Fox’s Brit Hume: Trump’s ‘Moment Will Fade’

Fox News analyst Brit Hume said Sunday that GOP candidate Donald Trump was tapping into a potent well of anti-establishment anger, but that “over time, his moment will fade” — apparently unaware that reporters who denounce Trump receive individualized take downs from the celebrity plutocrat in later interviews. (Or maybe that’s exactly what he wants? #branding.)

“There’s a segment of the Republican electorate that is angrier with the mainstream GOP leadership, in Congress and on the campaign trial, than it is with Democrats,” Hume said. “Donald Trump has captivated them for the moment. (And by doing so he’s basically eclipsed Ted Cruz, who was their previous horse.) He will have a run, but the chickens will come home to roost.” All the metaphors!

“Over time, his moment will fade,” Hume predicted. “But it’ll take a while. He’s got a lot of money. He’ll be with us a while. And he could be third party threat.”
