Joe Scarborough: With His Immigration Comments, Gingrich ‘Strapped On Same TNT’ As Rick Perry

video

Newt Gingrich‘s comments at last night’s GOP debate saying the United States needs a “humane” immigration policy drew scrutiny from MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough on Wednesday morning’s Morning Joe comparing the former Speaker of the House’s comments to Rick Perry‘s earlier remarks that torpedoed his poll numbers. “That’s a Rick Perry moment,” exclaimed Scarborough. “He just strapped the same TNT that blew Rick Perry up a couple months ago.”

“I do not believe that the people of the United States are going to take people who have been here a quarter of a century, separate them from their families and expel them,” Gingrich said last night. “I do believe that if you’ve been here recently and have no ties to the US, we should deport you.”

“What Newt Gingrich said about immigration will damage him in two states, Iowa and South Carolina,” observed Major Garrett

“Other than those two states, he’s good!” Scarborough snarked. “The two most important states!”

“For Gingrich to succeed against Romney, he needs to exceed in Iowa and South Carolina,” Garrett continued. “Only one state that Newt Gingrich has three offices — he has five in South Carolina. What he said last night is going to undercut whatever momentum he was building at the state level in both Iowa and South Carolina.”

“Why did he do that?” Scarborough pondered.

Just close the borders, like every other country in the world.

    Then go from there.

BTW, I am so glad to see that Jimmy Fallon apologized to Michelle Bachmann for cowardly act of his band.

“Jimmy Fallon has apologized to Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann for his house band, the Roots, playing Fishbone’s “Lyin’ Ass B—-” as her walk-on music for a Monday appearance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” Earlier on Tuesday Roots drummer/bandleader Questlove offered his own apology, saying: “The performance was a tongue-in-cheek and spur of the moment decision. The show was not aware of it and I feel bad if her feelings were hurt. That was not my intention.”

It will be interesting to see how Newt spins this today to make it sound like the MSM distorted his position. It’s ALWAYS the fault of the corrupt lefty media. (Right, Norbie?)

Its amazing that when these folks actually say the right thing, their base turns on them. What kind of mentality do these people have? are they sick? This must be one of the most despicable time to be a GOP candidate, because you have to suck up to crazies like these.

Every country in the world has its share of illegal immigrants, and the richer the country, the more they have. The vast majority of illegals are here just to work jobs most Americans don’t want. They do that and go home. The scaremongerers will say different.

The big issue from Mexico isn’t illegal immigration, it’s drugs, and we support the violence and crime of the cartels by refusing to legalize marijuana, a drug that is less toxic by all standards than alcohol and tobacco, not to mention the countless pills many are prescribed. If weed had been legalized a couple of decades ago, the border wouldn’t be in the state it is today.

About the borders, they are already on lock-down as much as you can reasonably expect. I don’t know if you live near one, but I grew up on one, and I can tell you that it’s a military state now within 50 miles of the border. Unless you actually support building a Berlin-style wall or spending tens of billions of dollars on technology meant to detect the movement of humans for thousands of miles, all to stop your favorite local restaurant from hiring an illegal to wash dishes, then I don’t think there’s much else that’s worth doing.

Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY white country and ONLY into white countries.

The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.

Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY white country and ONLY white countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites.

What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?

How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?

And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?

But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the white race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.

They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-white.

    Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white.

Its an American problem that our citizens don’t want to work the jobs that illegals are willing to work. We’ve become an entitlement nation that thinks we’re too good to be scrubbing dishes or pulling weeds.

  • Ricci Dats Me

I’d say Newt showed something I didnt know about him. HE ISNT the Xenophobic Freak like the rest of his current running mates or a majority of his GOP/Tea Party fans.
I find it somewhat alarming that people who claim to be patriotic Americans have no real issue with the idea of removing people from this country who have been here for decades, illegally, yet have tried to be as legal as they possibly can (MOST illegal immigrants by the way). IF Newt’s stance causes him to fall, it will be frighteningly obvious that we live in a country seriously divided with regard to “what America really is” and its 2011, so, we appear to be on our way to the “follow the yellow brick road” of history, because between 200-400 years of national peace there will be internal strife, period. CAN America be different since we really seem to think we are? I doubt it. Because NEWT is correct on this one and his party, HIS PARTY, will punish him. THATS a very ugly place to be socially speaking and historically.

    ————-
Nonsense. 3 million of them took advantage (and I do mean, took advantage) of the 1986 amnesty to gain legal status here, more than twice the number we were told would.  Now, you see illegal aliens demanding the Dream Act and a route to legal status and citizenship, despite the fact that our immigration laws have not and are not being enforced.  Don’t kid yourself–illegal aliens are not “staying in the shadows” but marching in the streets and appearing in sob stories in the main stream media demanding “better lives” for themselves and their kids, including legal status, benefits such as taxpayer provided healthcare and educations, and access through the Dream Act to the better jobs that Americans most definitely want and are doing.  Of course, 8 million illegal aliens are already working under stolen SS numbers alongside Americans so so much for them doing the “jobs most Americans don’t want”.

  • Anonymous

Illegal aliens are only willing to do those jobs as long at they don’t have access to the better ones.  8 million illegal aliens are working under stolen SS numbers alongside Americans in jobs Americans are and will do at companies such as Chipotle and Target.  ICE audits regularly turn these illegal aliens up.  And you forget–we admit 1.1 million LEGAL immigrants each year, most under family reunification, but many of these are also unskilled and uneducated immigrants.  One country alone, MEXICO, sends 15-20% of our legal immigration.  Are you telling us that LEGAL IMMIIGRANTS won’t do these dirty jobs?
Then, there are the legal guest worker programs for unskilled seasonal agricultural workers, H2-A (no caps) and H2- for other unskilled workers.  Tell us, please, how legal guest workers won’t do this work either?

Actually, plenty of us DEMOCRATS oppose amnesty as well.  Notice that Obama doesn’t bring the subject up in blue collar states such as Michigan.  He knows that it won’t play well there and he needs those union members to support him.

Funny, isn’t it, that Democrats who controlled Congress for the last two years of Bush and had his help still couldn’t pass an amnesty.  And that they couldn’t pass it in the first two years of Obama when they had both houses of Congress and the Presidency.  Fact is, plenty of us Democrats and Independents, especially those of us who believe in the traditional role of the Democratic Party as the protector of the AMERICAN working man and woman, oppose amnesty and the Party elite know it.

    …Reckless?

By working through either matricula cards (what most do) or fake SSNs, they are actually paying into the U.S. tax system. We take out payroll and SS taxes, and then the illegals shop at our stores and pay rents to our landlords, so they are contributing as much as most citizens. They usually aren’t making a lot of money so they don’t have much, if any, income tax to pay. What’s the problem then if some pay to go to schools or pay to use our hospitals? I don’t understand what the downside is, but please, enlighten me.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_FSPIVAFYI672OH5NOKVRTEZA4U MadCharles

Coming from a border town where illegals used to roam my streets at 2 AM.  Newts vision is fine with me. I’ve seen the same poorest of poor, weak, scared and hungry for comforting life in the jungles of Vietnam. Many of the Mexicans that flooded the border are in the same pathetic state as citizens in the remote jungle villages of a third world country like Vietnam thanks to Mexico’s failed socialist government. Once we clean out the illegal criminals and stop them from coming back the remaining will be productive. They’re finally learning they have to take serious their appreciation for being in America in order to be an American. It’ll take time but it’s happening.

  • Bot_feeder

“What’s the problem then if some pay to go to schools or pay to use our hospitals?”

Sure, that would be great if they did.  But they don’t pay for their education or health care.

It would be very interesting to see how for example the Catholic Church which supports amnesty for illegal aliens felt if they were allowed to sponsor illegal aliens for legal status but had to commit to pay for their education and health care.

My guess is that all of a sudden they wouldn’t be so positive about amnesty.  Lefties love to be “humanitarian” so long as it’s someone else who has to foot the bill.

  • Bot_feeder

“Its amazing that when these folks actually say the right thing, their base turns on them.”

Not so! My cube mate at work is a democrat and very liberal. He is rabid about hunting them down and throwing everyone of them out, I was the one arguing for self deportations and saying I can’t figure out what we should do with those who were brought here young and don’t even speak spanish. No jobs without proper citizenship paper work and no entitlements. No he says they should be hunted down in their homes, every last one of them. He is not the only liberal I know who feels this way. In fact of those who are my friends and family the liberals are the ones wanting them hunted in their homes and forcefully removed.

  • caconservative

Really tired of hearing the illegal aliens only take jobs American won’t do….CRAP!! And yes, the big issue is illegal aliens parasites crossing our borders!! California has about one year away from this state completely failing to meet it’s economic obligations. This not due to marijuana, it’s do to millions of illegal alien parasites sucking the economic life out of this state. The borders are completely porous, contrary to what the scumbag politicians are telling you. A double-fence, and the presence to the National Guard will stop the parasites from crossing.

Newt is one lying, dissembling hound dog, but he may have done the only intelligent, humane act I’ve seen in the entire Republican Presidential Campaign Circus. In their race to the bottom in how they can outpander each other, the Republicans have destroyed their party. What’s even worse is that rightwingers don’t even see what’s wrong in pursuing the most negative, narrow, mean spirited programs. I’m a New Yorker and we love immigrants, because that’s what’s made this city great, the renewing energy of waves of migration. Because our crummy governments have had stupid and confusing immigration regulations, doesn’t justify doing inhumane acts to the semi-legal immigrants currently in limbo. Rightwingers in their quest to deligitimitize government have caused most of our problems from deregulation of the finance industry to acting like Herbert Hoover on the onset of the 1930′s Great Depression, and, of course their bigotry towards Mexicans and others. Newt’s gamble on hoping that some of these ultra reactionary (very stupid) people who dominate the Republican primaries will see the light about immigration might pay off.

  • caconservative

When the hell did a foreign country assume the power to grant immigration into the U.S.?! When the hell did we abdicate our sovereign power?! For every $3 they pay into the system, they take $5 back out in the form of social welfare. In California, 71% of the illegal alien parasites are on some form of welfare, illegally! Our prisons, and jails are full of illegal alien criminals, our schools are full of their children using up the limited resources we have that should be going to the children of legal citizens who are paying for it! Upward of 90 hospital emergency rooms have closed with more slated to close because illegal alien parasites are using them as their primary health care providers, which of course, then becomes an emergency for those legal citizens who live in the area. The Liberal-news has so slanted this issue, as to make it appear as though the victims in this preposterous issue are the illegal alien scumbags instead of the legal citizens and their children. And now we’ve got Newt Gingrich pandering for the Latino vote by playing the “bleeding heart card” in the hope that this one issue will be a throw away issue on the Conservative check-list that he hopes will not be enough to eliminate him,  and just enough of a butt-kissing move to get the Latino vote. Like most political pandering scumbags, Gingrich, is playing both sides in an effort to find that middle ground that will most effectively give him his best shot. You can bet your butt, he’s lost the Conservative vote in California, where we see the damage on a daily bases!!

To Joe Scarborough everything is about politics.  Why did Gingrich say that?  Hmm, maybe cause he actually believed it?  Romney is just trying to score political points, everyone knows if he was president he wouldn’t deport all the families that came here illegally over 25 years ago.  Gingrich is right, we don’t have to make them all citizens, but we can let them stay here legally if they have strong ties to their community, have no criminal history, and meet a certain level of qualifications to be eligible for the path to living here legally.  As he said, all this will become irrelevant if shut down the border, which President Obama hasn’t done at all.  Instead he allowed the Fast and Furious operation that led to many guns ending up in the hands of the drug cartels.  The contrast between that and Gingrich’s ideas couldn’t be greater.  That’s what we should all be focused on, this administration’s lack of leadership on this and many other issues.

  • http://24ahead.com/ 24AheadDotCom

Darn straight! The policies you support have helped make those jobs low-wage and unsafe, and now those ungrateful American pigs won’t take them! Bunch of ingrates!

But, seriously, loose immigration is the opposite of “humane”. It encourages more people to try to cross, with many of them dying. It enriches Mexico’s corrupt elites and reduces the chances of reforms in that country. It harms low-wage US workers and gives more power to racial power groups like the NCLR.

And, what you’ll only hear from one other person is the absurd scheme Newt hyped in the debate:

    24ahead.com/n/9266

If we had real debates, Gingrich would have been “cross-examined” right then and there about supporting an absurd scheme from a multimillionaire heiress.

Immigration is a highly volatile issue and no matter what
the two parties say it will have equal ranking with the jobs and the economy.
This was illustrated on CNN cable when former Speaker Newt Gingrich stated for
the record, that people who had been here at least twenty five years, with
roots could in some way become a legitimate member of this society, but with no
path to citizenship–and those who came here in the last 5 years would not
be accepted and would be eventually deported. The only problem I see with this
as many others in the GOP race to become President simply did not entertain
this, because others will see this as soft on immigration enforcement, and a
‘magnet’ for others to arrive in even larger numbers. It’s a complex state of
affairs and the only avenue, I see for long term illegal residents, no matter
if they are paying taxes, without a criminal background, have children  or
as Newt said ‘going to church, is to file papers and then leave the country and
wait in line like every other potential immigrant. Otherwise is greatly unfair
to honest people, who have waited patiently years for a visa in other
    countries.

For the other illegal aliens who have no support, especially those who are in
the welfare system, they must depart under their own means or eventually be
deported. With the potential inception of the ‘Legal Workforce Act’ getting any
job nationwide, will grow even more difficult for illegal migrants and
immigrants. Businesses are under the growing pressure of being caught, with a
chance of a large fines, loss of business assets and even prison. With an
estimated 22 million Americans unemployed, many given-up, should add a urgency
to enacting E-Verify. But as the candidates informed Moderator Wolf Blitzer, in
last night’s debate, the border fence must be secured initially as that to me means
the 2006 Secure Fence Act. Texas Governor Rick Perry added to the commentary a
need for ‘Boots on the ground’ Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney,
whom Gingrich had overtaken in the polls, jumped on the prospect in distancing
    himself from the former congressman.

So far the Mandatory E-Verify Congressional bill has been ignored, accurately
as the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli bill had been–that GOP nominating candidate
Gingrich expressed. Newt Gingrich is very well versed in immigration history; he
and other supporters of the bill were promised certain regulations that were watered
down. Gingrich added, “We were going to get two things in return,” he said. “We
were going to get control of the border and we were going to get a guest worker
program with employer enforcement. We got neither.”

So the giant magnet for cheap labor is still obvious, because the politicians
had obviously colluded with the business lobbyists, not enforcing the 1986
Immigration Control and Reform Act. This type of reply will not go down well
with Conservatives, specifically the millions of TEA PARTY members-a growing force
of voters in thousands of nationwide branches. The Liberal Progressive,
including their compatriots in the media, has tried to undermine the voting
power of the TEA PARTY, moderate Democrats, and uncountable numbers voters in
every political party. The disillusionment for the present administration has
drawn the regular American out of their morass; unknown numbers who have never
voted before. Not just white citizens but, but black people, Hispanics,
    Orientals and all racial majorities.

On private land along the borders are hidden cameras placed
there by concerned ranchers and property owners. The mind-set of the Democratic
agenda is to expel that fewer aliens are crossing the border? The camera’s lens
show a different story as the trails are still full of both hundreds of illegal
groups daily, with the packed (mules) of drug migrant recruitment. There is no
slowdown, as being recorded through this equipment. The border is still full of
vast stretched of open land, barring a few rusty strands of barbed wire that
has been there for decades. What all the prospective presidential candidates
impressed on the audience was that the ‘Fence is not secured’ and without the
House and Senate being integrated fully with the new fresh-faced TEA PARTY
policymakers—it never will. Our immigration laws remain broken because of the
undying influence of the thousands of lobbyists who jamb the halls of Congress.  IF
YEARS BACK ENTERING THE UNITED STATES WAS A FELONY, THEN THE WHOLE ISSUE WOULD
    BE RESOLVED.

Legal Workforce Act (H.R.2885) that would require 100% of
businesses to utilize E-Verify for all new hires within 2 years. The bill would
also require all federal, state, and local agencies as well as federal and
state contractors, sub-contractors to use E-Verify within 6 months. The Legal
Workforce Act could open up jobs currently held by the approximate 8 million
    plus illegal aliens.

Firstly there is strong support for E-Verify law, The Legal
Workforce Act, bill number H.R.2885, as just 35 co-sponsors are needed to bring
this to the House floor. . Those American not working and want a job should get

in the new TEA PARTY leadership will be held accountable in coming elections.  The majority of those politicians in
Washington have their own site on the web, so everybody with access to a

The Legal Workforce Act, E-Verify will prosecute businesses
with harsh fine and prison for hiring foreign nationals. .NumbersUSA has all
the facts and a free faxing system to contact the House to bring H.R. 2885, to the floor of the House.

Come on republican voters! What is wrong with you all? Can’t you see the elephant in the room? Why are you all in denial that our only hope to beat Obama is having Gov. Perry to run against him. Gov. Perry, unlike other candidates, is running basically on his gigantic record of achievements. Can you imagine Obama running against Perry based on his very poor record?  Obama with disastrous record or no record at all, vs Gov. Rick Perry, a giant successful third term governor of a great state, with 13th biggest economy in the world, who has military, governing and legislative experience; plus, Perry is naturally charismatic and powerful leader, and  his policies are bold and visionary!! A commander in chief indeed.

President Perry will secure the boarder, he has been dealing with this issue for 10 years as a governor of a state that has a long boarder with Mixeco. Our Federal governor has failed to ptotect us, that is why Gov. Perry had to spend 400 ml. dollars of TX tax payers to secure the boarder.
Gov. Perry, he has such a leadership quality.

Yes I agree must close the borders, its like having an open bottom cup being continuously filled with water and it is flooding the area out below, you can stop the damage from the flooding waters until you take care of the main source. Cap off the opening where the water is coming through  and when you do such you then will have the opportunity to deal with the flooding. So simple this is a thought from a 5th grader.

What I find interesting is in 2007 Romney took almost the same stance as Newt did on illegal immigration, except he went much farther and stated they should get citizenship, which Newt did not do.

Sound coming from the LSM and Newt haters on Romney, crickets chirping.

Just enforce the law.  The illegal aliens are a bus ticket away from going back home.  They will go back home once the e-verify and other enforcement mechanisms squeeze them out of work.  The problem is not nearly as intractable and difficult as Newt and the liberals would like us to believe.  The states and various localities have already proven they will move on when they cannot work.  Finish the fortified fence and continue the enforcement.
