Jon Stewart Recaps Obama’s Shifting Position On Defense Of Marriage Act

The Obama administration recently reversed course when it announced that it would no longer defend in court a federal law that defines marriage between a man and a woman. This decision was lauded by libertarians and fans of gay marriage on the left, and predictably vilified by Obama critics on the right. But perhaps the best reaction was Jon Stewart‘s, who said “Oh my God! Marriage is no longer being defended! Did you hear that gays? Attack!”

I have no doubt that that’s true, but come on! You’ve read the post about Shep Smith and his opinions on the WI thing. It cuts both ways.

Plus, I imagine to most liberals this was good news.

The only thing that would have been relavent would be that 33 states have voted and gay marriage was REJECTED by ALL of them. Case closed except for Obama and loons on the left.

Yes, it was fine when Bush set the precedent and defied / ignored / circumvented the law…. Republicans were rah-rah’ing from the sidelines when he did that. So I guess you will just have to deal with it.

Obama cannot pick and choose the laws of the land he wishes to defend. When he took his oath of office ,he swore to uphols ALL the laws of the land. This is only talk to quell the masses (few) of the left so they will still vote for him.
He will have to be careful as he could be impeached for failing to upkeep the laws he swore to uphold.
If only they would.
I also see in some states his numbers are going up.This outrightly proves that Americans are stupid.
