Kimmel Mocks Trump’s Cease and Desist Letter Over Wolff’s Book: ‘I’m Buying 20 Copies!’

On Thursday night, Jimmy Kimmel had some fun at President Trump‘s expense over Michael Wolff‘s new tell-all book, Fire and Fury.

He began by updating his audience about the ongoing feud between Trump and his former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon. The president mocked Bannon this morning by saying he has “changed his tune.”

“Look at that face,” Kimmel reacted. “It’s like a orangutan sucking on a lemon.”

Kimmel then went on and talked about how Trump’s lawyers have sent the publisher of Wolff’s book a cease and desist letter, which was filled with “legal terms” for “‘wah wah wah, stop saying mean things about me!'” He listed some of the explosive claims, including Trump’s three TVs installed in his bedroom, his cheeseburger eating habits, and Ivanka Trump‘s presidential ambitions. He also blasted the White House for allowing Wolff such unprecedented access.

“Why did these idiots allow him in the White House in the first place?” Kimmel continued. “That alone indicates poor decision-making.”

He then had a question for President Trump.

“If you don’t want people to read a book about you, why would you take legal action to try to stop people from reading the book about you?” Kimmel asked. “I wasn’t going to buy the book, I was just gonna read the excerpts in magazines and move on. But now that Trump’s lawyers are going all-out to try to stop this book from being published, I’m buying 20 copies! I can’t buy enough of these books!”

Kimmel called threatening the writer “literally the dumbest move you could make,” unless he was secretly “getting a cut of the book”… “or more likely he’s just dumb.”
