Liberal Radio Host Slams MSNBC’s Al Sharpton and Alec Baldwin Shows

Last Friday afternoon, progressive radio host Randi Rhodes expressed her true negative feelings about several of MSNBC’s talk shows: Al Sharpton‘s PoliticsNation and Alec Baldwin‘s Up Late.

“Tonight is another edition of Alec Baldwin’s show,” Rhodes said with a chuckle. “I’m trying to be fair here. I mean, what is that? I’ve given it to two weeks. I have. I’ve tried. It’s just, you know, what is that?”

She lamented that comedic actor Baldwin may be out of his element on cable news: “You take, like, the funniest person on the planet and you put him in a liberal elite media environment and now you want to wear, like, a shroud to mourn the death of MSNBC.”

As for Sharpton’s 6 p.m. show, Rhodes bluntly told her audience: “Listen. I’ll just be honest with you, okay? I’m not a fan of the Al Sharpton show. I think it looks like, it sounds like a Saturday Night Live parody. I’m sorry, I said it, there it is, okay?”

Sharpton has long been the subject of SNL parodies, mainly focusing on his prompter-reading style, his on-air mannerisms, and his famous references to “blueberry pie.”
