President Obama To Give ‘First And Only’ Interview On Bin Laden Raid To CBS’ 60 Minutes

CBS News has announced President Obama will give his “first and only” interview about the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden to Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes. Kroft has interviewed Mr. Obama ten times in the past, most recently last November.

CBS says the interview will be conducted tomorrow at the White House, and aired this Sunday, one week after the dramatic raid that sent U.S. forces into Pakistan and into a dramatic firefight inside bin Laden’s compound, where the al Qaeda leader was shot twice and killed:

The president announced late last Sunday that the al Qaeda leader was killed during a raid at a compound in Abbottabad, which is close to Pakistan’s capital of Islamabad.

The assault on the compound – carried out by Navy SEALs – yielded not only bin Laden but a treasure trove of intelligence information retrieved from computer hard drives and other materials culled from the site.
