Rachel Maddow To Anchor From Afghanistan
America’s longest running war has returned to the media spotlight courtesy of General Stanley McChrystal and Michael Hastings. Now that Afghanistan is front and center again, Rachel Maddow will be anchoring her show from the country next week.
It is Maddow’s first trip to the region and her MSNBC show will be live from Kabul next Tuesday and Wednesday. Maddow, who announced the decision last night, said she will be working with NBC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel, “spending several days shooting stories in different parts of the country.”
The move will be a definite change of pace for Maddow — her last venture outside the studio came earlier this month when she traveled to the Gulf.
