Rachel Maddow’s Helpful Hints For Hypocrites: Google Yourself

video

Last Tuesday, Rachel Maddow dedicated a segment to comparing Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan to failed Bush era nominee Harriet Miers; yesterday, she pointed out why many prominent Republicans should have gone through the trouble, as well. Taking on Sens. John Cornyn, Jim DeMint, Jeff Sessions, and Mitch McConnell– all of whom supported Miers despite her similar lack of judicial experience.

Maddow pointed out objections to the Kagan nomination from the left, where concerns have risen that Kagan might be to the right of retiring Justice John Paul Stevens, thus making the Court more conservative. She called this the most “substantive” debate going on, and promised to look into that later. But first, Senate Republicans! All four senators, she noted, had supported Harriet Miers and actually commented that she considered her lack of experience– what concerns them about Kagan– to be refreshing.

Going through each senator’s previous comments one by one, Maddow found almost exactly contradictory comments from the Miers nomination to the Kagan nomination, concluding that “if you’re going to raise what you are pretending are principled objections to her, you might want to google yourself first, to remind yourself of what you used to say were your pricipled objections.”

Roach Maddcow , and Krank Goobermann, are night after night goin on the air (small audience I know) and promoting judicial activitism . They fail to understand or they do and just ignore it, why Kagan might not be left enough. Their job is to interpret the constitution not have shared extreme left or right views. Stevens and Souter nominated by republicans turned out tilting left but were nominated on their brillant minds and constitutional knowledge.

It’s common knowledge that keith olbermann, after getting out of bed with his best friends daughter every morning, he googles himself.

Only to find a career listings of disgraced failures.

Olbermann has stated that any disagreements with Obama are due to racism. Later on, Olbermann disagreed with Obama on sending more troops to Afghanistan. Oops.

Typical Maddow. Instead of defending a liberal position, she tries to score points against Republicans on something from years ago. This would be like telling the judge: “Yes, I stabbed the victim. But ten years ago somebody else stabbed a person on that same street.” Someone at MSNBC should point out to Rachel that this type of “diversionary activity” is neither coherent nor convincing. Yet she engages in these lame rhetorical ploys night after night.

So that’s what you guys got from the clip, huh?

And felix, that analogy is spot on, well done.

Poor Rach, she is going to look just like Kagan in ten years. Rach needs to remind Obama about his previous words on appointing someone that has not been a judge. He should google himself before every speech.

    Hey Rachel,
You might want to forward that advice to Obama:

OBAMA: One thing that I do think is important is that the White House recognize that in the absence of any judicial record on her part, in the absence of any significant work that she appears to have done related to constitutional issues, that she’s gonna need to be more forthcoming and the White House is going to be more forthcoming than they were during the Roberts nomination. Ms. Miers is completely a blank slate.

    Fraces,
You could at least pretend to be a journalist. I mean that quote has been roaming around for a few days now, and you blatantly ignored it. Typical!

  • MichelleF

Sorry gordon, seems you posted the same thing. Well it should be said twice anyway!

  • Teabagger

You DO know what happened to Harriet Miers don’t you?

There was plenty of conservatives that questioned her ability for the job also.

Looks like Obama nailed that one.

Actually, what was far funnier was Madcow’s show tonight. She had a segment where she expressed mock indignation because Sarah Palin was giving a speech, during which she made a passing joke about Maddow. The idea that this happened seemed to totally confuse and bewilder Madcow, as she wondered aloud why would Palin would even know about her, let alone mention her?

Gee, here’s a clue. How about the fact that ever since her debut as McCain’s running mate, Madcow has done nothing BUT use her TV show as a national platform to mock, ridicule, and show utter contempt for Palin. Yet the idea that Palin would finally make a passing reference in return somehow comes as a shock to poor Rachel. And I mean “shock” in the sense of Captain Renaut being “shocked” in CASABLANCA to discover that gambling is taking place in Rick’s cafe.

So, I’ve got good news for Rachel.
There’s an easy Google hypocrisy search she can perform on herself.

Maybe Rush plans on filling you in on that part next week…

I recall Maddow doing some bit on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon back when Palin’s book came out. I’m sure Maddow is well aware that Palin knows who she is.

Maybe she’s been taking notes from one of the greatest thespians of our time, Sir Glenn Beck.

Rach, One of the greatest lesbians of all time. Rach could make the lesbian hall of fame. She just complains about Palin because she isn’t a lesbian.
