Rick Santorum on ABC’s This Week: As Republicans, We Should ‘Stick To Our Guns’

On ABC’s This Week Sunday former presidential hopeful Rick Santorum was asked by host George Stephanopoulos how he felt Republicans should go forward and deal with the gun debate. “I think we should stick to our guns,” he replied.

Santorum described how years ago, he felt “guns” were the answer to a Senate win in Pennsylvania. “People feel unsafe,” he said, “and having a gun and gun ownership is part of how people can feel safer.”

He also called President Obama‘s administration “disingenuous” for their public and private views on gun control. Although Vice President Joe Biden met with the NRA, Santorum said, he was uninterested in hearing about the administration’s lax stance on gun crimes and prosecutions.

“Are they serious about this or is this just about politics?” he asked.
