Sarah Palin Dubs Kathy Griffin ‘Has-Been Comedienne’ And ’50 Year-Old Adult Bully’

video

Sarah Palin was asked this weekend to respond to reports that comedian Kathy Griffin had been booked to play a “Sarah Palin Tea Party type” on the hit show Glee. Palin did not demur, calling Griffin (who has viciously mocked the former Alaskan Governor in the past ) a “50 year-old adult bully” and a “has been.” Ooooh…it’s on!

Appearing with Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro, Palin played the part of Mamma Grizzly telling her host:

You know, Kathy Griffin can do anything to me or say anything about me, because you know, she’s kind of this – she’s a 50-year-old adult bully is really what she is.

She’s kind of a has-been comedian and she can do those things to me. I would just ask for respect of my children. As she had stated on CNN that her New Year’s resolution was to destroy my 16-year-old daughter, that takes it a little too far.

Kathy, pick on me, come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone.

truth to power stated by a independent, educated woman; You go Sarah! Attacking a public figure’s children is beyond the pale.

Good for Sarah – you guys (and CNN) love Cathy. Just imagine, if she was Huck…..you all went after Huck for his comments about Natalie Portman and single motherhood, yet you embrace Griffin over her outrageous attacks on a a teen.

    Typical lefty double standard.

    Proof of Palin’s idiocy from–TADA!–Palin.
Only a fool gets into a stink match with a skunk.
She just booked Griffin solid for the next year and a half, and wrote her material.
Maybe now she knows how it feels to have someone attack your family.

Sarah you just don’t know when to stop. First rule of thumb you don’t mess with a she-devil, especially when she claims to be Jewish. When you attack her, you are messing with a contingent of people that can make your life very miserable. Know when to pick your battles and when to walk away. Your pride and ego is far surpassing and superceding your common sense. President are you kidding me?

    John Merritt said:

Palin didn’t mess with anyone. She was asked a question and she responded. And she’s absolutely right. Griffith is a loudmouthed who makes her living insulting other people – most generally people with whom she couldn’t share the same roo with, much less consider peers.

It is one thing to insult Palin – and to some degree even Bristol because she’s put herself into the public forum and therefore, for the ilkes of the jackals like Griffith, fair game.

Its another to go after Palin’s 16 year old. Can anyone reasonably defens that?

So….I’d like to see her take Palin up on her offer and go up to Alaska for a one-on-one confrontation. Heh. But she won’t. She’l heckle from afar and get pats on her scrawny back from her oh-so-cool Hollywood pals. She won’t risk a face to face encounter.

    Bullies never do.

Palin is being way too charitable. I would have thrown in “clown-faced sperm dumpster” and “a compelling reason for me to reconsider my position on abortion”.

Sarah Palin, if she were actually a serious person, would have just said something to the effect of, “I don’t care about Kathy Griffin. She is trying to make money off of me. Why are you asking about her? Next question.” The producers of this segment, however, know that Sarah Palin will happily take up any slight of her or her kin, even if it’s from someone as laughable as Kathy Griffin. Sarah Palin is the only pol in the land that would even be asked about this kind of dreck, because Sarah Palin is dreck herself.

Griffin is the less charming version of Margie Phelps .

To anyone but her fans (ie gay men) Katie IS a loudmouth bully and a 50 y/o has been stand-up. Although I LOVED her making an anti-gay prostitute joke right in front of Anderson…

That’s one thing liberals don’t understand because most don’t have children and the ones that do don’t give a flying fu*ck about them, instead they care about causes, elections, and themselves.

I seem to remember Kathy Griffin – who is dreck, I’ll agree, and would only add that since she’s a darling of CNN, that network is also dreck – taking a potshot at Scott Brown’s daughters. Scott Brown certainly was asked about it and spoke out about it, so no, as much as you may hate her, Palin is not the only pol in the land who would respond to something like this.

You’re right about Scott Brown. I should have phrased it better. Let’s remember, however, the difference in Brown’s approach vs. Palin’s…..

People can call me any name they want, but families are off limits,” he said in the statement made through spokeswoman Gail Gitcho. “I love my daughters Ayla and Arianna very much, and any parent would be proud to have them as children. Kathy Griffin and Bravo ought to be ashamed of themselves.”

Simple, effective, and dismissive. Palin, on the other hand, starts returning fire with catty insults. I have said over and over I don’t hate Palin. I think she is a joke. I also think it is a joke that there are so many people who swear fealty to her.

  • Nationman

more garbage from the palin dump. First she’s mad that christie is getting more attention than her, now she’s mad at a self proclaimed d list comedian. Who will she start a feud with next? My bets on Hillary clinton for actually doing something effective in the world while palin wastes away in reality show hell.

  • im_lovin_it

    @Genome,

Furthermore, Scott Brown also released that in a statement. Perhaps I’m generalizing, but I don’t think most interviewers will ask a politician of note about something Griffin said. Palin is always good for the gold of making a snippy response.

Sarah Palin, desperate for attention after taking a month off, uses the old “leave my children out of it” line to try to elicit sympathy for her once again. Oh Sarah – how does it feel for both you and Beck to start losing support of even your own party members and become increasingly irrelevant day by day? You and Beck feel your only options now are to make more outrageous statements than the last just to draw attention to yourselves, when all you’re doing is marginalizing yourselves more and more. I am enjoying the self-destruction of you both. Are ya #winning like Charlie? LMAO! What a buffoon.

You can’t be that dumb. Griffin is a comedienne…a raunchy one at that. Huckabee is a politician. A former Gov. and presidential candidate (past and future.) Apples and tomatoes much? There’s no equivalence. The bar is set much lower for Griffin. She revels in gutter humor.

Precisely. The only “winner” from this is Kathy Griffin. You can never out-shit talk (if there’s ever such a word) a comedian. All this does is give Griffin more publicity and more material for her next act. Sarah Palin, the pea-brained dolt never knows what to comment on and what to ignore. She’s a prickly thin skinned woman. Quite extra-ordinary for a guttersnipe. I almost laughed when she called Griffin an “adult bully.” Hey, sweetheart, grab a mirror!

Griffin made fun of Bristol Palin. You know….the ADULT child of Palin. I’m sorry but when you get knocked up as a teen, you don’t get to lecture anyone on abstinence or single motherhood when your family is sitting on millions. People WILL mock you since you are a PUBLIC figure.

LOL…is that why you geniuses are always defunding programs that would benefit children? You sure have a funny way of showing how much you “care.” The only “children” you people give a shit about are the ones that have not yet been born. Life begins at conception and ends at birth for you gnats. Perhaps you should look at the oh-so kind things your god Lush Limpballs (an actual political commentator — not a comedian) has said about the Obama kids or even Chelsea Clinton. These are/were actual kids when they were being mocked. They get the usual raucous applause from the flavor-aid sippin’ minions.

Once again, Palin takes the low road…Griffin is a comedian, she does comedy…Palin has brought her kids into the public, Bristol is making a great living off the public exposure she has had. Palin is just trying to get a little publicity, the way she talks about the First Lady and the first family, why should she make a big deal about it being done to hers? Bye–Bye Sarah!! She is really scrapping the barrell at Fox, who even watches Jeanine Pirro?

Sarah is a joke for playing the age game, forgetting that she is coming close to 50 herself. No man would get away with that (attributing a female’s age), you just don’t do that, but Sarah feels like it’s OK to make the world to be aware of her rival’s age.

Does age means you become less relevant, well without that Sarah is becoming irrelevant.

  • skyfet

By the way she can’t keep hiding behind her children, she’s trying to black mail her like she did with Letterman. He exchanged Bristol with her little sister, Palin took that and ran away with it and almost implying that he is a pedophile. By the way Bristol is not 16, if Sarah doesn’t know her children’s age,t hen she has a bigger reason to stay in Alaska, just like mama Bush advised.

She made the age reference probably due to Katiy’s obsession with youth and cosmetic surgery, so she might appear younger that she is due to her low self esteem. Palin mentioned her age as a shot back a Kathy for attacking her children. She was responding to Kathy’s vulgar rants. Or do you just like woman to lay there and take it?

I dont regularly subscribe to entertainment so I have never seen nor heard Griffin. But the occasional glimpses I have taken at contemporary comedy reveals sorely immature, facile, and vulgar material. I wouldnt give any comedian a second thought, let alone any viable credence. That goes for music and movies too. America has an addiction to entertainment and sports and the subsequent celebrities they produce, but not me, I think its all bullshit.

Griffin, when speaking of the other daughter, was referring to anti-gay remarks that the daughter posted on her facebook site. Classy kid. And then the dancing moose sausage one referred on TV to giving the middle finger to haters. Classy family. Extensive vocabulary. Palin can’t have it both ways, she shills her kids to make money for herself and then uses them again to get headlines over people “attacking” them.. But it sure was funny on this video to see Palin revert to her mean girl snotty body language. Mentioning the public behavior of a celebrity’s kids….is not “bashing”. If a fat chick goes on DWTS and gets fatter over the season, people notice, and raunchy comedians will make jokes. That’s just a fact of life. While her daughter was dancing away up there on DWTS, Mrs. Palin was bad mouthing (in her book) other kids trying to make a go of it on American Idol, cruelly mocking them for lack of talent. Mrs. Palin likes being a lightning rod, otherwise no one would pay attention to her, nor to her children. She purposely says the most bombastic snotty things, and then gripes all the way to the bank when the media notices. Complaining about “attacks” on her children is just another bank deposit for her. She had no qualms about publicly attacking the father of her own grandchild, although the kid was barely an adult.

“1. Palin apparently only likes reality-TV shows featuring her daughter, Bristol
One thing Palin dislikes are “talentless wannabes” on reality TV, say Roxanne Roberts and Amy Argetsinger in The Washington Post. Palin singles out “American Idol” contestants who are “deluded enough to get up in front of a national television audience and screech out a song,” adding that the only good thing about “Idol” was judge Simon Cowell’s “willingness to tell hard truths” to the “seemingly endless supply of people who can’t sing.” Dancing is another thing, though, and Palin loves that her daughter Bristol decided “to challenge herself in a new, fun way” on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Writer: Palin wrote/published this roughly the same time her daughter was on DWTS. Do you really think that Mrs. Palin didn’t realize the type of scrutiny it would draw to her own daughter? The derisive comments? She did that to her own daughter. She CHOSE to do that to her own daughter.

Well maybe, just maybe, if Sarah actually spent time parenting rather than seeking fame, she could keep tabs on her kids. All of the girls I knew who got pregnant in their teen years had absentee parents…or worse. I watched my parents raise two spectacularly normal daughters by making sure they were involved in both daughter’s lives, while allowing them the freedom to do things like take extended trips overseas. If the girl decided to go for the money by appearing on DWTS, and continually got fatter, then of course comedians would comment on it. It’s that threshold…if someone is seeking public attention, then they have to be ready for the whole spectrum of it. No, it wouldn’t be fair to call Obama’s kids lard ass if they weren’t out trying to sell themselves on a reality show. Nor anyone else’s kids that were simply living a private life.

Why does Palin reside in their heads?

Projection of fear? Lack of courage of their convictions versus her obvious willingness to stand on principle?

dipper, there’s nothing wrong with being critical. Here’s the difference. Simon Cowell was rough on the contestants. But I never saw him take it personally. He never told any of them they couldn’t sing, then added, “By the way, you’re a lard ass, and a whore, and your ugly, etc. etc.’ That’s the difference between criticism, and what the left does to the Palins.

  • big dipper

The only reason I answered you is because most other comments sound like they come from pre-teens. But you lessen the credibility of your own posts when you have to get in a “left” dig, people from both left and right dislike Palin and see her for a publicity hound. What Griffin said is that she is the only candidate on DWTS who gained weight over the period of the show, some 30 pounds, and that she looked like a white precious. Griffin is a raunchy comedian, like Joan Rivers. On the other hand, Palin herself said some pretty nasty things about kids that go on American Idol, so people then pick on her kid. Tit for tat, Palin knows it, Palin keeps on doing it, Palin knows that the publicity “sucks” for her kids. Going after Griffin on TV yesterday was designed to get more headlines for Palin, at the expense of the daughter. Now, people who missed what Griffin said are looking it up and saying to themselves, well yeah, she did look kinda like that. Palin chose to do this to her daughter AGAIN.

It’s like these two are in a tie for who looks weirder at this point.

Why does a class act like Palin even bother with a Lefty Skank-Ho like that gutter-scum Griffin?

Ha! Class act! Is that what you call trailer trash?

  • TrollJuice

Is this the new generation of politicians? White trash?

The Tea Party would rather us live in a trailer park than our president be a success black guy. THey call his wife names for christ sake, they don’t care about morality. It’s just a game for them.. but trust me, if they start messing up too much, the rest of the country will just demolish them. I wouldn’t worry too much, however, I think America is headed toward revolution if the GOP/Tea Party continues to try to mess with the United States. We don’t like you Tea Party, you’re the dumbest people in our country, please go away XD

I don’t know if they are the dumbest, but they are the most resistant to change, and having BHO in the White House is profoundly disturbing to them. They have always existed, just under many diverse names and will always exist. Unfortunately for them, they also attract the wingnuts that sooner or later drive most of the solid base to seek alternatives, or just die off. This go round is noisier because they have learned how that internet thing works. Enjoy the sideshow while it lasts…..

John McCain’s greatest mistake never ceases to amaze me. Is it possible for you to say something positive about an opponent or somebody who has offended you? America has been waiting over two years now.

How long can you be a comedian who is not funny? When is the last time you heard her kill? Jeff Ross is funnier in his sleep.

  • WildMan

Kathy Griffin is definitely the Bitch of Bitches. She books her ugly face as a comedian, yet she is NEVER funny. I mean aren’t so-called comedians supposed to be a little bit funny? Somewhat humerous? Yet the red-headed queen of nobodies can call people names with the best of em. Hell I say put Kathy and Sarah into a cage and let em duke it out.

  • OxyCon

Kathy Griffin should just stop dying her hair and let it go it’s natural gray. Then she should keep the next wart that grows on her fugly face. She’s a very ugly person inside and out, so she should stop trying to cover it up and just go with and let herself look like an evil witch…her natural appearance.

So dipper, any parent who wants to see their kids enter any kind of competition is putting them out there and just asking for it. For instance, if a kid enters a spelling bee and misses a word, it’s fair game for the audience to start cat calling about the kid’s weight.

Palin is that crazed girl in highschool who is so threatened by any of the popular kids that she’s the one who shoots your dog.
She is the ultimate media whore – so imitation is fair game. We feminists didn’t want just anyone in a skirt – we especially cring at this cheap white-trash – she is a fab thank god – and her light is fading.

Kathy Griffin: A has been failure craving a feeling of relevance.

Wait, you’re saying no one can talk about Obama’s father? And the book Obama wrote titled “Dreams from My Father”? Ha. You’re funny.

so it’s not ok to talk about palin’s children that she talks about in practically every speech she’s given?

Obama was all upset over Glenn Beck, a guy the left dismisses as nothing but a clown. So how thin skinned is Obama?

so you’re saying beck is on the same level as a d list comedian? again, you’ve learned a lot.

You are living in fantasy land. Palin’s children didn’t grow up under the wing of a wealthy former politician. You need to put down whatever it is that you’re smoking.

*are growing up under a the wing, the argument still stands. ndanielson’s argument was that obama was pampered and therefore it’s ok to talk about his missing father.

Some call it “pimping out”. Some call it a life lesson. Obviously you weren’t even worthy of being “pimped out”. Maybe mom and mom were afraid you’d embarrass them? Or themselves? I’m sure the Palin kids will be just fine. Your concern for them just seems so disingenuous, though. Why is that? By the way, there are many more that enjoy the Palin kids than bash them and throw fits at the mention of their name. Thank goodness for that huh? That the world isn’t as full of nasty little trolls like yourself. We know why your parents didn’t pimp you out.

so you admit it’s ok to talk about her kids, that way they’ll be educated in life skills.

The whole “left wing hates Sarah Palin” argument is mostly a public relations plan used by Palin herself.

From that first Katie Couric interview, where she couldn’t even name a newpaper or magazine that she reads, or that she has foreign policy experience because her state borders Canada and is close to Russia, Sarah Palin has been a walking joke in the public eye. Her response to this mundane and totally innocent type of question was to hide from any journalist who might ask Palin a question that forces her to show any shred of knowledge or logical thought process. And now all she does is talk about the lame-steam media from behind her microphone at Fox.

When a person says as many mean-spirited and stupid things as Sarah Palin, she is going to be the target of every comedian, and people will just laugh at her.

Nobody on the left would want to see harm come to her. She’s the best chance for the Democatic party to win in 2012. Her support for tea party candidates like Angle in Nevada and O’Donnell in Delaware helped the Democrats maintain control of the Senate.

The real murder threats will probably come from the RNC to keep her out of the presidential race.
