James Carville Rages and Demands DSA Candidates Stop Using ‘Our Godd*mn Name!’
Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville demanded Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) stop using the Democratic Party’s “godd*mn name” in a rant against progressives.
Carville made his comments during a video conference promoting the Promise To America movement, which was started by moderate Reps. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) and Adam Gray (D-CA).
The group has distanced itself from far-left politics and candidates. According to its website, “We believe in building more to lower costs and expand opportunity. We believe Democrats succeed when we speak to the whole country and value persuasion over purity.”
During the video conference, parts of which were aired by Fox News’ Trace Gallagher on Thursday night, Carville said he was confused by DSA connecting themselves to the Democratic Party at all.
“We get subjugated by some of the more outspoken people who, by the way, [are] not even Democrats,” Carville said.
He added, “I wish they’d take the word Democrat out of their name. I have no idea why the democratic socialists — if you hate the Democratic Party so much, well, then don’t use our godd*mn. Go think of your own name!”
Suozzi also spoke during the conference and said Promise to America is an opportunity for moderate Democrats to get as well “organized” as DSA.
“The DSA is incredibly well organized. The MAGA movement is incredibly well organized. Those of us that disagree with those extremist movements in the Democratic Party are organizing right now,” he said.
Carville argued that progressive and far-left voices are overtaking moderate voices in his party and Democrats need to embrace bipartisan issues.
“We do things like this that are popular, are actually helpful, that can help the country. Who’s not for lower crime? I mean, everybody is, but we just need to restate it,” he said.
Carville has had an increasingly tense relationship with the progressive wing of his party. He’s faced backlash from Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), and others over his criticism of “woke” politics and progressive candidtates.
Carville even recently threatened to leave the Democratic Party if candidates keep embracing controversial streamer Hasan Piker.
“I can’t do anything about these people,” Carville recently told Fox News about his progressive critics. “In their life, they’ve never run anything bigger than their mouth.”
