Saturday Morning Cute Video: Rachel Maddow Welcomes Chris Hayes’ New Baby

video

It’s been a long year of bizarre, inexplicable, sometimes unpleasant political news, and since today dawned with Herman Cain‘s mysterious campaign announcement looming like the Eye of Sauron over the news cycle, let’s start the day with something unapologetically adorable. Last Monday, MSNBC host Chris Hayes welcomed Rachel Maddow‘s Best New Thing in the World into the world, daughter Ryan Shaw-Hayes. Maddow welcomed the infant to the world herself on Thursday, lamenting that the Blackwater onesie she tried to buy her got lost over eBay.

Maddow took some time from her show to air adorable pictures of the baby with Mom and Dad, and present said Blackwater onesie and explaining, “we got screwed over eBay.” There’s no profound media analysis to do here; it’s just a segment full of very cute baby pictures.

Congratulations to the new mom and dad! And it should be noted that little Ryan will apparently not interfere with our biweekly dose of Up, as the host not only showed up to work today (which, we’ll admit, we probably would skip out on in a similar position), but will be back on MSNBC at noon to cover the Herman Cain campaign news.

I hope she grows up to look like a cross between Rachel Maddow and Andrea Mitchell

    I hate children.  Especially babies.

  • Anonymous

Maddow hates being a woman. Hayes hates being a man. What would crawl out if you shook them up in a sack?

  • Anonymous

Any idea whom Chris Hayes suspects?

  • Rex derWunderGott

I suspect she’ll grow up to look like an amalgam of her grandparents – which is the norm for humans.

Whereas I DO hope that we never – ever ever – are faced with having to look at what a hideous abomination of fused hominid & insectoid flesh YOU are, kerrryz.

Have a nice day, and please remember not to go outside and scare any children.

    Cheers.

  • Rex derWunderGott

They are tasty, though – especially with mint sauce.

  • Rex derWunderGott

Oh, that is SUCH  a laugh riot! Have you thought of posting this on Funny or Die? or maybe The Onion? You could go on the road with a routine based on such a nuclear-powered haha as this. This is right up there with that Monty Python skit about the weaponized joke, which I suppose explains why you chose, and very wisely I suspect, to leave out any actual HUMOR from your line, in case it accidentally causes injury to anyone.

What a future in Show Biz you have!

    Totally gratuitous and snarky.

It is not possible to look like a cross between Richard Maddow and Chrissie Hayes.

Having seen Chris Hayes as the more than willing sock-poppet on any number of occasions on MSNBC, forgive me me if I had the audacity of doubting the ability of Chris Hayes to attain fatherhood, because his demeanor, words, pronounciation and behavior evoked the same feelings in me about him as liberals feel and loudly declare about Marcus Bachmann.

If he had EVER been a less of a slave to Matthews, or any other of the MSNBC “hosts”, if he had ever shown any male testosterone, my original post would have never happened.

Am I being any less respectful of Chris Hayes than he ever has been to Sarah Palin? Or George W. Bush? Or Colin Powell? Or Michelle Bachmann? Or Herman Cain? Or  Mitt Romney? Or Ronald Reagan? Or anyone with a conservative persuation?

    Don’t think so!

  • Cecelia

    A Christmas baby!  How wonderful!

  • http://Mediaite.com Frances Martel

This is why you guys can’t have nice things. It’s a post about a new baby, be civil.

  • Anonymous

What a coincidence! We both throw around the term “hideous abomination of fused hominid & insectoid flesh”. However, I use it to describe pseudo-journalists who set out to destroy a man’s reputation with unproven innuendo. Thanks for your good wishes. I do plan to have a good day.

  • david r

What a pretty baby!  The first time she laughs (which won’t be far away) it will light up his heart like nothing he has ever experienced.

Odds are that child is going to grow up hating everything his silver spoon father thinks about politics. I see a lot of angry talk back and forth across the dinner table as an aging father tries to defend the politics and policies that bankrupted his son’s country.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_BVNN7YQ5S6CUYNRI3HVN4NCNDI Carlton

Hayes is an abortion loving liberals.  That baby means nothing to him; it is just a collection of cells that had he had the mind 7 months ago he and the mother could have ended it with a snap of her fingers.

  • Anonymous

Kind of like what liberals said (and still keep on saying, given the chance) about Sarah Palin’s baby and/or Bristol Palin’s baby?

Right, be civil. Be civil enough to remove posts that don’t support your views. Be civil so you will not be perceived as someone who cuts through liberal hypocrisy.

Be civil but don’t EVER be NOT brave enough to bash Bristol Palin. Or her mother.

Be civil enough to wait for evidence to condemn Herman Cain, rather than believe some money-hungry skank.

Be civil enough to celebrate a baby, as the result of questionable fatherhood, but call another baby, the result of a mother’s devotion to life as a “RETARD”.

Frances Martel, you and your hypocrisy can go to H…..

  • Rex derWunderGott

Certainly these babies kerrryz and OSux.

  • Rex derWunderGott

Good news! I just checked the super secret Mediaite regulations, and no, you do NOT have to continue posting or even reading here GP!

What a relief it must be for you! Cheers!

  • Rex derWunderGott

Yes, Eyegor and I were discussing this exact subject earlier beside your crypt while you were out sucking the life-blood from the carcasses of the unemployed peons left to die by dumpsters.

Our theory is Hayes and his wife created this first member of their brood for contingent future organ failures on their parts, and otherwise plan on harvesting the non-organ meaty parts as a tasty treat to be taken down to the local Marxist-Socialist-Librul Saturday Baby Meat Market Coop Exchange. So, pretty standard stuff, & it’s how we roll in keeping up our meat intake, we libruls. I’m sure you understand: you guys like to eat road kill, we like to eat innocent baby flesh – chacun a son gout, as they say in Gay Paree.
    Bon Appetit; & Cheers!

  • Gloves R. Donahue

Nothing like holding your new baby and having him fall asleep in your arms.
Total love , total trust.     Beautiful baby.

  • Rex derWunderGott

Hmmm – sounds like projection; like what happened to the Reagans. I actually don’t know any children of liberals who rejected liberalism and went over to your dark side. Hey, Carlton, by chance, are your kids living down in an Occupy tent city these days? Cuz that would explain this weird shot of yours here. But those were the days, weren’t they? Bet you really really miss that show.

    Cheers!

  • Anonymous

    Beautiful baby indeed.

Congratulations to Chris and Mrs Hayes!

  • Anonymous

Though I’d love to see them cooked slowly on a spit for twelve hours, I would never eat a kerryz or an Osux.

  • Anonymous

Carlton, You exemplify the reason republicans are what’s wrong with this country today.  You have what my father termed “optic rectitis,” meaning, your optic nerve is connected to your rectum and you have a shitty outlook on life. As Rex said, you’re projecting, not everything that happens in your home happens in every other home.

  • Anonymous

The introduction of Chris Hayes’ beautiful baby on Rachel’s’ show should have been a visual symbol to everyone of what is truly important in life.  However some cannot help but put inject their political viewpoints into that which should not be political.  It is heartening to see that some can put these differences aside and simply express the proper viewpoint.

  • Anonymous

I guess it is the cross we have to bear: A linguistically challenged idiot calling herself The Wonder God!

  • Anonymous

Hmmm… referring to to the Reagans is a bit of a stretch, seeing that Ronald Reagan, himself, managed to see the light and denounced hatred and unions (pardon the redundancy) and became a Republican.

His son, the one that he chose, is a decent person, following in his father’s footsteps. The renegade one is welcome to be a Democrat and good riddance to bad rubbish.

  • Anonymous

I am sure you were happy to see Sarah Palin’s baby and of course Bristol Palin’s baby and never made any remarks about either of them being retards.

  • Anonymous

    OH, Geezus!!!
    Another libtard is spawned.
Rachael must be green with envy knowing that normal sex, rather than the same gender sex and “toy” sex  she is into, can result in the “evolution” of an infant demon.
    Thank God she’s a dyke!!!

Surprised they get along, considering that Chris is a much better looking lesbian.

  • Anonymous

    You better, Sasquatch!

  • Anonymous

Wow. This blows my conspiracy theory that Chris Hayes was ACTUALLY Rachel Maddow in drag and glasses.

I really thought I had nailed it. So maybe he’s a fraternal twin?

  • http://twitter.com/MerryMarjie MerryMarjie

What an erudite commentary on the human condition, to which I say, “AliveStillKickin, stuff a sock in it.” You have personally lowered the level of the conversation on this site.

  • Anonymous

IMPOSSIBLE to get lower than liberal…..IMPOSSIBLE!!!
If it isn’t in the law of physics….it should be.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tim-Malone/100002475802402 Tim Malone

He’s not married to a man?

  • Anonymous

I Didn’t Even Chris Hayes Was Pregnant !!  He Wasn’t Showing Much !!

  • Anonymous

Aww…That’s Nothing !!  Wait Until Jester Gets On A Roll !!

A baby is indeed a miracle…..especially one spawned by a liberal….the way they like to butcher them at abortion clinics.
Congratulations on not killing your baby.

I hope other liberal savages follow your lead but I am not holding my breath.

  • musa qala

Hayes is an abortion loving liberal.
That baby means nothing to him and his liberal wife.  To them it is just a collection of cells that had they had the mind 7 months ago he and the mother could have ended it with a snap of her fingers.

It is a shame people like them bring babies into the world.

  • http://twitter.com/MerryMarjie MerryMarjie

I’m not even going to venture a guess as to what the M in your avatar means, but I have my suspicions.

  • Anonymous

Uh, I think it stands for “Maryland.” Is that what you had in mind?

  • http://twitter.com/MerryMarjie MerryMarjie

    Umm —– no.

Look, as someone who is Pro-life, I’m absolutely disgusted by some of the vitriol that others are tossing out there. I assume you are so because you are Christians (not a far-fetched assumption), so why don’t you show some charity with your comments.

On the other hand, I would hope that having a child would actually get people to think twice about their stance if they are pro-choice. I’ve always presumed that not having any children and, therefore, not having experienced the great blessing that it is, has contributed to people’s feelings about the whole issue. It is much easier to support a person’s choice to kill a child when it’s in the womb when you’ve never had a child of your own towards whom you feel great love. Perhaps this will help change Mr. Hayes’ mind.

But one thing I know for sure is that the hate that’s being thrown around here by pro-lifers is disgusting and will hurt your cause in the end. There is a way to have passion for a cause, to disapprove of someone’s behavior, and try to convince them of your point of view without being an a$$hole. The fact is that trying to convince someone that they should do something out of charity (be pro-life, not have an abortion, not use contraception, etc.) works a hell of a lot better when you show charity to them in the process. Otherwise, you’ll just turn them away because of your own hypocrisy.

  • http://twitter.com/MerryMarjie MerryMarjie

What a refreshing point of view!  I am totally Pro-Choice because I couldn’t possibly presume to live someone else’s life for them, but your opinion gains great weight with me since it is reasoned and intelligent and given in lucid terms.  Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this article.

  • Anonymous

I was critical of those comments as well but nice try.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_76F7SAA3N35X4IBY5BGVQML2YM James

Especially one with a donkey-shaped birthmark. Or is it a tattoo already?

  • Anonymous

You are hilarious. And thanks for defending Hayes , his wife, and new baby against republicans/conservatives who would even take a story like this to bash Hayes and liberals.

  • Anonymous

The article clearly states that the child is female.

Carlton West you win the crown for the biggest piece of shit on these boards.  You beat out some serious competition.  Congrats.

  • http://www.facebook.com/andrew.sappington Andrew Sappington

And you are an ugly asshole that even hates the birth of a baby.  Do you Cons ever stop hating?

  • http://www.facebook.com/andrew.sappington Andrew Sappington

Your kind will be dead soon.  Hate will destroy you.

  • http://www.facebook.com/andrew.sappington Andrew Sappington

Would you prefer he get an abortion? Carlton is that you?  Asshole.

  • http://www.facebook.com/andrew.sappington Andrew Sappington

A child does not live in the womb.  It is an embryo or a fetus that completely relies on the woman’s body to survive.  Even if you are pro life and would never have an abortion, what gives you the right to tell another woman what she can or cannot do with her body?

What a clever person you must be.

Doesn’t matter.  If you know anything at all about kids, you know that this one is likely to be the next Ann Coulter.

Mentally disabled? What part of OCD & Tourette’s (it’s possessive, not plural) qualifies as “disabled”?

  • Anonymous

I accept hate for baby murderers…If that is what you are referring to…..but my hate for butchers will get me closer to heaven than your hate for those who would stand up for the most innocent of beings.
My hate is justified…if there is such a thing…while yours is pure hate for those who go against your crimes to God.
    Think about it.

The liberal creed requires that all morons MUST attack the messenger of truth….lest they convince the masses that liberalism is a fucked up religion…LOL!!

    * To rise to the level of a “disability,” an impairment must “substantially limit” one or more major life activities of the individual. *

Unfortunately, it isn’t limiting the right activities.

You’re not the only one dealing with this, but you’re doing it badly. Some of us do a GOOD job of faking ‘normal.’ So stop giving the rest of us a bad name.
