Colbert On Osama bin Laden Killing: ‘Suck My Giant American Balls, al Qaeda’

On the first full day that Americans had to digest the news that terrorist leader Osama bin Laden was killed in a raid by US forces Sunday, it seems only fitting that right-wing fundit™ Stephen Colbert would have the last word. His show was born out of a roiling kettle of post-9/11 politics, and Monday night, he applied his ample bombast to the remnants of bin Laden’s terrorist followers, declaring “Suck my giant American balls, al Qaeda!”

Colbert’s character is an (increasingly affectionate) sendup of bombastic conservative pundits like Bill O’Reilly, far to the right of the man who plays him, but bin Laden’s demise is probably the rare instance where the character and the man nearly agree.

Following his defiant credo, Colbert brought some serious funny, riffing on about 70 years of pop culture, and somehow managing both a Wizard of Oz and a Reservoir Dogs reference in the same bit. The segment caps off with a funny bit about the 2001 shark panic that also provides a slight Proustian ache for that bygone time when all we had to worry about was sharks that would never bite us.

Disclaimer: This cat is a full blown, card carrying, left wing bomb throwing lib, and somewhat of a coward as he pretends to be every over the top conservative stereotype all rolled into one hilarious ( in his and his rabid fans minds only ) schlub.

The problem with this guy is that just like Andy Kaufman, after the brain cancer became terminal, is apparently unable to ever change out of character ( gross exageration ) and his morally bankrupt fans are fooled into hating right along with him.

Let’s give credit where credit is due. The special forces unit were no doubt inspired by the targets Sarah Palin put up on her web site — and that led to them taking out Osama bin Laden.

(The above is just as accurate as the 10,000 mainstream media stories trying to link Palin to a murder in Arizona.)

it is just so funny to watch the lamestreamers fawn over hehimself while they would call W a war criminal if he had ordered this mission.

Well, I say kudos to all involved….and the lamestreamers should stop trying to politicize this because that will backfire. If hehimself takes credit, he himself will get blamed…..the priase goes to our military and out intelligence community.

Remember how “patriotic” the anti-American Democrats got right after 9/11? It lasted about 3 days. They’ll be back to hating our military, and presenting terrorists as “victims” of America in no time at all………….

I thought you guys were ANTI-war and killing. Olbermann was SPECIFICALLY against clandestine killing before Obama… now he’s for it? Can you guys make up your mind already. I need a score card to keep up with all the changes in position on the left lately? Where is Code Pink, Michael Moore, and all the other psyco anti-war left??? Not that I’m complaining… I couldn’t stand them then and am glad they crawled under a rock where they belong.
