‘Take Your Book And Shove It’: Don Imus Replies To ‘Friend’ Jonathan Alter’s Request To Promote Book
On Wednesday, radio and Fox Business Network host Don Imus revealed that he received a request from Bloomberg and MSNBC contributor Jonathan Alter to help promote his new book. Alter’s latest work, The Center Holds: Obama and His Enemies, evidently did not meet Imus’ standards. Imus told his “friend” Alter to “take your book and shove it up…”
“I don’t like it when people tell me what a great friend they are of mine, because I know it’s nonsense,” Imus said, revealing that he was in a “terrible mood.”
Imus proceeded to read a portion of Alter’s email. “I’m sorry I haven’t been a better friend and just come crawling up to your ass when I need something, but I do need something: You putting me on your air to hawk my new book.”
“I would like to now write an on-air missive to Mr. Alter,” Imus replied. “Take your book and shove it up your…”
“You couldn’t get on this program with a certified check,” he continued.
