Wasserman Schultz: ‘Irony’ in Bernie Trying to Win Using the Process He Criticizes
On Bloomberg’s With All Due Respect earlier tonight, DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz remarked upon the irony of Bernie Sanders‘ criticisms about a rigged superdelegate system.
Wasserman Schultz insisted that the voters will ultimately decide the nominee, the nominee has never been selected by superdelegates, and there’s no way Donald Trump could beat Hillary Clinton.
Nicolle Wallace did ask her about the possibility of Trump beating Clinton and Sanders’ attacks on her being to blame. The DNC chair didn’t want to entertain that notion.
When John Heilemann moved on to other Sanders critiques of the Democratic primary system, Wasserman Schultz remarked, “Can I also just point out that there is some irony in criticizing a process that now he says he wants to use to become the party’s nominee. Just saying.”
Remember, Sanders has denounced the idea of superdelegates whilst making the case that, hey, superdelegates should be coming over to him and maybe helping pick him as the nominee.
