Bernie Sanders Fires Back at ‘Racist,’ ‘Sexist,’ and ‘Xenophobe’ Trump for Calling Him ‘Crazy Bernie’

Presidential candidate and Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT)  responded to President Donald Trump’s tweet about him entering the race to be the Democrats’ nominee, where Trump called him “Crazy Bernie.”

“What’s crazy is that we have a president who is a racist, a sexist, a xenophobe and a fraud. We are going to bring people together and not only defeat Trump but transform the economic and political life of this country,” Sanders responded in a tweet of his own.

When Trump was asked about Sanders’ announcement on Tuesday, he praised Sanders, while sprinkling in some criticism.

“Personally, I think he missed his time, but I like Bernie because he is one person that you know on trade, he sort of would agree on trade, I’m being very tough on trade,” Trump told reporters. “The problem is, he doesn’t know what to do about it. We’re doing something very spectacular on trade. But I wish Bernie well. It will be interesting to see how he does. I think what happened to Bernie maybe was not so nice. I think he was taken advantage of. He ran great four years ago. And he was not treated with respect by Clinton.”
