Andrew McCarthy Blasted By Fellow Fox Contributor For Saying There’s ‘No Case’ Against James Comey

Fox News’ Ben Domenech slammed fellow network contributor Andrew McCarthy over his doubts on there being a case against former FBI Director James Comey, who is now facing an indictment.

Domenech took to X on Friday to respond to a highlight of McCarthy’s take on the Comey situation. McCarthy was predicting that the case against Comey would be thrown out. He also told Fox’s Maria Bartiromo on Friday he does not believe there is a solid case against Comey. The former FBI director has vowed to fight against the indictment.

“Andy has been the most consistent defender of bad DOJ behavior going all the way back to his FISA court defenses in 2017. His analysis on the politics of this situation is about as good as his 2024 prediction,” Domenech wrote about McCarthy.

Comey is accused of lying under oath to Congress about a leak on an investigation into President Donald Trump’s former opponent, Hillary Clinton.

McCarthy argued that the Comey case is an uphill battle that likely doesn’t hold together.

He told Bartiromo:

I don’t think there’s a case. You know, the things that Kash Patel that you just played that he was talking about that you and I have spoken about for years, Maria, the Russiagate stuff. I’m as big a critic of that probably as there is. I wrote a book about it. I think it was a disgrace and history will remember it that way. This indictment is not about that, and it seems to be premised on something that’s not true, which is that McCabe said that Comey authorized him to leak to the Wall Street Journal. If you look closely at what McCabe said, what McCabe said was that he directed a leak to the Wall Street Journal and told Comey about it after the fact. So it’s true that Comey never authorized it in the sense of OKing it before it happened. So I don’t see how they can make that case.
