Daily Wire Host Calls for the Execution of Chicago’s Mayor

Daily Wire host Matt Walsh accused Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson of treason and said Johnson should be “given the requisite punishment for a capital offense.”

Speaking on Wednesday’s edition of The Matt Walsh Show, which airs on Ben Shapiro’s Daily Wire platform, Walsh expressed support for President Donald Trump’s deployment of National Guard soldiers to large cities controlled by Democrats, ostensibly to combat crime.

Trump has said he will deploy the guard to Chicago, claiming, “I have an obligation.”

Johnson vehemently opposes the idea, stating at a rally on Monday, “No militarized force in the City of Chicago!”

On Tuesday, Walsh accused Johnson of treason on social media, and he elaborated further on Wednesday’s show.

“They’ve gone out of their way to make violent crime much, much worse in Chicago,” Walsh said of Johnson and other Democratic leaders. “This is a deliberate effort that they’ve embarked on. Now it’s true that in our federal system, states are not required to assist the federal government in carrying out certain policy objectives, but it’s also true that states and local government cannot actively interfere with the federal government’s decision to enforce the law. That is not states’ rights. That is treason.”

He then accused the mayor of encouraging treason:

Brandon Johnson is openly encouraging residents of Chicago to engage in treason against the United States. And for that reason, Brandon Johnson should be arrested, charged with treason, convicted, and then given the requisite punishment for a capital offense. Will that ever happen? Probably not. But then again, just a few days ago, Tren de Aragua, you know, they never thought that they’d be intercepted as they sped towards the United States on their drug boats. They certainly didn’t imagine they’d get blown up without any warning.
