Bad Bunny Mocks MAGA-Fox News Outrage Over Super Bowl In SNL Monologue

Bad Bunny mocked conservative outrage over his Super Bowl gig on Saturday Night Live during his monologue to open the show with a doctored video of Fox News personalities.

This week’s edition of Saturday Night Live marked the first episode of the sketch comedy mainstay’s 51st season. The host was Super Bowl splash-maker Bad Bunny, who became the first star in the history of the show to host after being the musical guest in the previous episode. It’s his second time hosting.

The musical guest was Doja Cat in her first SNL appearance.

Supporters of President Donald Trump were outraged at the news that Bad Bunny will headline this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, ostensibly because of the rapper’s vocal criticism and activism around Trump’s deportation force.

The rapper made light of the controversy in his opening monologue with a stitched-together declaration of love from Fox News personalities and a challenge in Spanish:

BAD BUNNY: You might not know these, but I’m doing the Super Bowl halftime show. And I’m very happy. I’m happy, and I think everyone is happy about it. Even, even Fox News.

FOX NEWS VIDEO MASH: Bad Bunny is my favorite musician, and he should be the next president.

BAD BUNNY: Wow, thank you. No, no, but really, I’m very excited to be doing the Super Bowl. And I know that people all around the world who love my music are also happy, especially todo Latinos.

(IN SPANISH) Latinos and Latinas all over the world and here in the United States, all the people who have worked to open doors more than an achievement of mine. More than an achievement of mine, it’s an achievement for everyone, showing that our footprint and our contribution in this country, no one will ever be able to take it out or erase it.

And if you didn’t understand what I just said… You have four months to learn.

We have a great show for you tonight.
