Dave Portnoy Leaks His Texts With Andrew Schulz After Comedian Blasts His Criticism of Zohran Mamdani

Barstool founder Dave Portnoy published texts between him and Andrew Schulz after the comedian slammed him for his criticism of Zohran Mamdani.
On a recent episode of the Flagrant podcast, Schulz accused Portnoy of simply “acting like” he cared about New York’s mayoral race. Portnoy, he argued, was only concerned about Mamdani’s stance on Israel.
“Portnoy is like, he’s a socialist, he is a communist, he’s doing all these things,” Schulz said. “It’s like, Portnoy, just say you’re upset about the Israel shit. Like, stop acting. Like, you don’t live in New York. Stop acting like you care.”
Schulz also said that the Democratic Socialist Party is the true “America First” party.
In response, Portnoy posted multiple screenshots of their texts Tuesday morning.
“If anybody is doing acting, it ain’t me,” Portnoy captioned the tweet.
In their text exchange, Portnoy listed off his many issues with Mamdani. He accused the mayoral candidate of defending the Boston Marathon bomber, hating the police, and hating “ambition and success.”
Then, Schulz admitted that he was merely being “hyperbolic” when he said that Democratic socialists were “America First.”
“I hate his policies,” Schulz told Portnoy. “Hate his logic. I think he wants to help; he’s just wrong in the way he’s trying to help.
“I was being hyperbolic when I said they’re ‘America First’ party. I was trying to say what Trump is doing with extending foreign wars and Epstein cover-up is not America first.”
Portnoy then reaffirmed his belief that Mamdani “truly hates America” and that New York “can’t have a mayor who hates white people, financial sector, the police and thinks crime is a social construct.”
Schulz told Portnoy, “I agree.”
