Julia Louis-Dreyfus Offers ‘Personal Apology’ for Current Political Climate
During her Emmy acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Comedy Sunday night, Julia Louis-Dreyfus offered what she billed as a personal apology for “the current political climate.”
“Our show started out as a political satire,” the Veep star said. “But it now feels more like a sobering documentary.”
Louis-Dreyfus was quite emotional during her acceptance speech — which she concluded with a dedication to her father, William Louis-Dreyfus, who passed away Friday at the age of 84.
