SNL Flays Trump And AG Bondi In Cold Open On Bonkers Hearing — With Huge Surprise Guest
Saturday Night Live roasted Trump Attorney General Pam Bondi and President Donald Trump in a cold open satirizing Bondi’s bonkers appearance at a Senate hearing this week — and featured a big guest appearance reuniting old classmates.
This week’s edition of Saturday Night Live marked the second episode of the sketch comedy mainstay’s 51st season. The host was SNL alum Amy Poehler, hosting for the first time since 2015 and her third time since leaving the cast.
In honor of Poehler’s return, SNL posted a blooper reel from her time co-anchoring Weekend Update:

Also this week, Role Model was the musical guest. From SNL:
Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, will be making his SNL debut, during which fans are keeping their fingers crossed that he’ll perform his hit song, “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out.” The big question is: Who will get to play Sally and join him on stage? Bowen Yang has already done it once, but that doesn’t mean he can’t reprise the role? We’ll just have to tune in to find out!
Tonight’s episode airs exactly 50 years after SNL premiered on October 11, 1975, and while the major celebrations went down in February, you might as well keep it going with a toast to a well-earned birthday.
Next week’s host and musical guest will be Sabrina Carpenter pulling double duty.
The first order of business this week, as it is every week, was the cold open, a long-running gag in which the show performs a parody — usually related to current events — that ends with performers breaking character and exclaiming “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night!”
This week, the cold open featured Poehler as Bondi, and a big cameo with Tina Fey as Sec. Kristi Noem:
