Fiery CNN Conservative Scott Jennings Reportedly Scores ‘Lucrative’ New Contract With Big Pay Bump

Republican CNN senior political commentator Scott Jennings has leveraged his popularity as the network’s resident Trump-friendly voice into a new contract and a bump in pay, according to reports.

The details of the pay raise and the length of the contract were not available as of Saturday, and neither party had commented on the matter.

But in a Friday Status News update, former CNN reporter Oliver Darcy revealed he’d been briefed that Jennings has secured a new deal with the network after months of negotiations.

Darcy reported:

Behind the scenes at CNN, MAGA pundit Scott Jennings has been busy over the last few months, not just reliably excusing Donald Trump’s appalling behavior on the network’s panels, but also negotiating a lucrative new contract, according to people familiar with the matter. Jennings is now in the final stages of those negotiations, and the terms are set to be quite favorable to him, I’ve learned.

In fact, Jennings is set to receive a substantial pay increase from the Mark Thompson-led network, I’m told. A CNN spokesperson declined to comment on the matter.

Jennings looked to get his own show during the contract talks, Status reported, but settled for the increase in pay instead.

The former George W. Bush administration adviser has seen his star rise increasingly in recent months over his viral clashes with progressive CNN guests.

Jennings is also not shy about going toe-to-toe with top network talent.

The news CNN will offer Jennings more cash comes months after the network announced it would lay off hundreds of staffers in the weeks after the 2024 election.
