Chef Problems: Trying To Find Liquid Nitrogen During A Hurricane
Why would you need liquid nitrogen during a hurricane? Actually, come to think of it, it would make a really good substitute for ice. You could also use it to freeze-dry foods you need to preserve. Or, if you’re Alton Brown, you might need it for a demonstration you’re doing on television on Wednesday (that is, if we even have a Wednesday):
Hey nyc fans: I know you guys are busy but anyone know where I can land some liquid nitrogen for my GMA demo on Wednesday?

Numerous fans suggested Dave Arnold, well-known Time Lord and head bartender of Booker & Dax — and his bar manager Tristan Willey responded:
@tristanwilley I’ve got a dewar and would be glad to come by any time day or night between now and Tuesday night.

Is this the chef version of borrowing a cup of sugar? Probably. ‘Scuse us, we’re going to pop over to Jean-Georges to borrow some foie gras. For hurricane purposes.
