WATCH: Curtis Stone Makes Pork Belly For Vegetarian US Olympic Champion Rower

NBC is weaning us off the Olympic teat by featuring various US Olympic stars on The Today Show all this week to offer them a hero’s welcome back Stateside. This morning, Curtis Stone was on hand to roast (not braise; never braise) up some crispy pork belly with rice noodles and veggies with three of the gold medal-winning lady rowers from the Women’s Eight. Unfortunately, one of them was a vegetarian, but Curtis was nice enough to make her a veg version of the dish and remain cool through the slightly awkward demo.

Of course, it was only made more awkward by the anchor joking multiple times about how terribly unhealthy the meal must be for the Olympians (SUGAR in the dressing? Gasp!), but they had been training so hard that it must be fine, right? Right?

How about let’s stop making commentary on the diets of women training for sports at an Olympic level and let the gals eat their pork, yeah, guys?
