WATCH: Larry Wilmore Explains How The First LGBTQ Monument May Be a Dive Bar

 

Greenwich Village in New York City may be getting a major piece of history. The Stonewall Inn, a gay bar, may become the first LGBTQ monument. It’s a gay bar that has been around since the 1960s. It was routinely raided until 1969 when the community fought back. The resulting protests are considered by many to be the beginning of the gay rights movement.

Watch, as Nightly Show Host Larry Wilmore explains to a vacationing family that LGBTQ does not stand for “Landscapes, Geocaching, Boating, Tans, and Quality time with the old family unit.”
