According to Alton Brown, the number of yearly hospital visits due to mango-related injuries vastly outstrip the number of hospital visits based on weasel attacks. And the reason is that people often use terribly dangerous techniques to slice mangoes — ones that involve cutting a knife into the general direction of your hand — which, when you think about it, is dumb.

As part of Brown’s anti-dumb-food-injuries crusade, he demonstrates a much better way to slice a mango below. It’s great if you don’t like blood. (There’s also the bloody way to slice a mango, but you’re a bit of a weirdo if you prefer that method.)
