Fox News has dominated the cable news ratings for years with very infrequent interruptions and is extending their triumph in the online landscape. According to data exclusively provided to Mediaite by Fox News, Fox News Digital and the network’s various social media platforms hit stratospheric numbers last month.

There were a total of more than 121 million unique visitors for all of Fox News’ digital platforms, which the network touted as the third highest monthly number in cable news history. CNN, which has for years been the leader in website traffic, remained number one in total uniques. NBC News, meanwhile, drew 97.8 million unique visitors for the month.

Specifically regarding Fox News Digital, January 2025 was its best month for multi-platform minutes since November 2020, with a highly consequential presidential election driving the news cycle. Fox News Digital topped all news brands in both views and minutes last month, with 4.6 billion total minutes, 2.2 billion total views, and 121.8 million total unique visitors. Those figures were an increase of 40%, 30%, and 11% from January 2024, respectively.

Fox News’ YouTube channel more than doubled its closest competitor NBC News and raked in over one billion views for the first time ever, a period of growth while CNN was declining slightly compared to January 2024, with its multi-platform views down 1%, minutes down 14%, and total unique visitors down 1%.

Just looking at January 2025, Fox News held its spot as the top news brand on YouTube for the third consecutive month with 410 million views, its second best month ever since launching its YouTube channel and an increase of 74% since December 2024. In comparison, Fox’s nearest competitor NBC News had 168 million views, followed by MSNBC with 153 million views, ABC News with 140 million views, CNN with 137 million views, CBS News with 62 million views, and The New York Times with 7 million views.

Fox News’ mobile app hit 6.9 million unique visitors in January, and the network’s social media accounts dominated their competitors, with 21.4 million interactions on Facebook, 34 million on Instagram, 5 million on X, and 29.6 million on TikTok.

On TikTok, it should be noted, NBC News remains supreme. The network drew more than one billion views on that app alone in January.

Fox Business had 1.5 million social media interactions as well, and the overall social medial interactions for Fox News was 61 million, an increase of 171% from last year. There were 160 million views for FoxBusiness.com in January 2025, beating CNN Business and Bloomberg.com for the 34th straight month and 45th straight month respectively. FoxBusiness.com also counted 254 million minutes and 23 million total unique visitors for that time period.

The big number from the Fox News data was that the network drove over one billion social video views for the first time ever last month, counting traffic from Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok combined.
