Jeff Daniels Sickened By Trump’s Poop Bomb Video: ‘Would Lincoln Have Done That?’
President Donald Trump’s mega-viral AI poop bomb video is no laughing matter to actor Jeff Daniels.
The Dumb and Dumber star, during an appearance on MSNBC’s Deadline: White House on Tuesday, said he was disgusted by the lack of “decency” from the commander-in-chief — and in particular, the clip he posted of himself flying a fighter jet and dropping feces on “No Kings” protestors, including left-wing influencer Harry Sisson.
“By the way, do we really have to treat people like that? You know, the meme that he had where he was flying with the crown and the, you know, spewing excrement all over the people down below—” Daniels said.
“The country, America,” host Nicolle Wallace jumped in to add.
“Would Lincoln have done that?” Daniels asked.
“I don’t think Nixon would have done that!” Wallace responded while chuckling.
“Nixon wouldn’t have done it. Reagan wouldn’t have done it. Bush wouldn’t have done it — either Bush,” Daniels continued.
The Michigan native, who played a TV news anchor on HBO’s The Newsroom from 2012 to 2014, added that kind of content does not sit well with people in the Midwest.
While Daniels may not have enjoyed it, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) did. Johnson on Monday said it was a textbook example of the president’s use of “satire” and that Trump was “probably the most effective person whose ever used social media.”
If you somehow missed it, the president, late on Saturday night, posted a 19-second clip of him bombing New York City protestors with a bunch of wet excrement — to the sound of Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins, the theme song from Top Gun, of course.
Loggins felt the same way as Daniels about the video, demanding on Monday that the “unauthorized” use of his song be removed from it.
This was not the first time Daniels has ripped the president, by the way. He warned in 2019 that, if Trump won the 2020 election, it would be the “end of democracy.” And during an appearance on Wallace’s podcast earlier this year, Daniels called Trump a “snake-oil salesman.”
