‘A Very Unstable, Tumultuous Time for Our Country’: Bret Baier Calls in to Fox News to Assess News of Biden Dropping Out
Fox News anchor Bret Baier called in live to comment on the not-unexpected but still stunning news that President Joe Biden will not seek reelection after becoming the Democratic party’s presumptive nominee. Baier said of the news, “This is a very unstable, tumultuous time for our country,” adding, “One side of the political spectrum is really up in the air right now.”
Weekend anchor Mike Emanuel asked Baier if Biden’s dropping out of the race suggested that the current president would also resign for the last six months of his presidency, a notion Baier dismissed.
“Yeah. I mean, obviously, it doesn’t sound like this letter. He’s stepping down. It sounds like he’s leaving the nomination,” he replied. “But it raises all kinds of questions about world leaders, how they look at this situation.”
“This is a very unstable, tumultuous time for our country. And we’ve got to get all the way to November and a vote,” he continued. “One side of the political spectrum is really up in the air right now. And, there’s a lot of people probably rethinking what they may have been doing at this moment.”
