Ana Navarro Blasts Pam Bondi’s ‘Shameful’ MAGA Makeover: ‘Completely Different Than The Person I Knew’
Ana Navarro blasted Attorney General Pam Bondi on Monday’s The View as she and her co-hosts laughed over Saturday Night Live’s take on Bondi and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, where alums Amy Poehler and Tina Fey recently returned to play the duo.
“So, Bondi responded to the bit and tagged Kristi Noem, writing, ‘Should we recreate this picture in Chicago? Loving Amy Poehler.’ Is leaning into this right?” Whoopi Goldberg asked.
“The right move?” Navarro added.
“You saw people skewering them and making fun of them, and Pam Bondi thinks it’s a good thing! And probably, for her with the MAGA base and with Trump, it is a good thing,” she said. “I think being skewered and imitated on Saturday Night Live — we’ve all be imitated — is kind of like a rite of passage. I’ve known Pam Bondi for a long time, I haven’t spoken to her obviously in a few years but, this is a completely different Pam Bondi than the person I knew in Florida who was an affable, nice —”
“Wasn’t she the D.A. in Florida?” asked Sunny Hostin.
“Attorney General,” Navarro answered, continuing:
I think she’s loving this. I think she’s loving the fact that it’s, you know — that we are talking about her this morning — is probably raising her stock with the MAGA base, but, frankly I think what she’s doing to the institution of the DOJ and the oversight in Congress is shameful and embarrassment and is going to go down in history as one of the worst performances by an attorney general in front of Congress.
Sara Haines defended Bondi, saying, “I think the only way you can reply to comedy and look like you can take a joke is by doing what she did. I think the only way to handle jokes like that are so lean into them because otherwise you just look dumb.”
“These people may not need much help to look dumb,” Navarro quipped.
