Just days after officially departing the White House, Elon Musk is going scorched earth on the signature budget legislation being championed by President Donald Trump.

In a post to X Tuesday afternoon, the former White House adviser sounded off about legislation he considers a “disgusting abomination.”

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

Musk has previously criticized the Trump-backed “big, beautiful” budget package — but has done so in far more measured fashion.

“I was like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, not decrease it and undermines the work the DOGE team is doing,” Musk told CBS, in an interview which aired Sunday. He added, “I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful. But I don’t know if it can be both.”

The Congressional Budget Office found that the bill would “increase…the federal deficit of $3.8 trillion attributable to tax changes, including extending provisions of the 2017 tax act.” Republican Senators including Rand Paul (KY) and Ron Johnson (WI) have come out strongly against the package — arguing it would explode the national debt.
