Elizabeth Warren Gives Stunned Silent Laugh When Podcaster Asks If Biden Was ‘As Sharp As You?’

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was stunned into momentary silence when podcaster Sam Fragoso pressed her on past statements defending President Joe Biden’s mental sharpness, asking if he was “as sharp as you?”

Biden dropped out of the presidential race after a disastrous debate performance led to widespread questions about his acuity, even as many of his allies defended him.

Warren was among those defenders at the time, telling a podcaster, “The man is sharp. The man knows what he’s talking about.”

Such was the case on Sunday’s edition of Fragoso’s Talk Easy with Sam Fragoso after Fragoso confronted Warren about those words of support — until Fragoso’s panic-inducing follow-up question.

When asked if Biden was “as sharp as you,” the senator froze and performed a strange, silent laugh before trying to amend her earlier comments before finally surrendering:

SAM FRAGOSO: Do you regret saying that President Biden had a-a mental acuity? He had a sharpness to him. You said that up until July of last year.

SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN: I said what I believed to be true.

SAM FRAGOSO: And did you think he was as sharp as you?

SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN: (PAUSES — MAKES FACE) Um– I said I had not seen decline.

(PAUSES).

And I hadn’t at that point.

SAM FRAGOSO: You did not see any decline from 2024 Joe Biden to 2021 Joe Biden?

SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN: Not when I said that. You know the– The thing is, he–.

Look, he was sharp, he was on his feet. I saw him. Live event. I had meetings with him a couple of times.

SAM FRAGOSO: Senator, “on his feet” is not praise.

SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN: (LAUGHS).

SAM FRAGOSO: He can speak in sentences is not praise.

SENATOR ELIZABETH WARREN: Fair enough, fair enough.
