Elon Musk shared the results from an apparent drug test following an explosive report suggesting he was taking everything from ketamine to magic mushrooms during his time working with the Trump administration.

“Lol,” Musk wrote in his X post, which included the lab results from a drug test.

According to the paperwork, the drug test was conducted on June 11 by the Fastest Labs in Austin, Texas. The urine test showed Musk as clean for amphetamines, ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine, cannabis, fentanyl, and more. During his final meeting at the White House, Musk refused to comment on the Times story, lashing out at the outlet as fake news.

Urine tests are not able to measure past drug use as far back as something like a hair follicle test, which can detect drugs for months afterwards. Some drugs are also eliminated from the system fairly quickly. Ketamine, for instance, can be almost entirely wiped from the body after approximately 12 hours, according to American Addiction Centers. Cocaine can last slightly longer and be detected in urine tests a few days after its use, while cannabis can typically stay in the body — depending on the person — for weeks.

“I am NOT taking drugs! The New York Times was lying their ass off,” Musk wrote in an X post last month. “I tried *prescription* ketamine a few years ago and said so on 𝕏, so this not even news. It helps for getting out of dark mental holes, but haven’t taken it since then.”

According to a Washington Post report, Trump referred to Musk as a “big time drug addict” while their relationship fell apart. While Musk was once a close advisor and acting as a special government employee, the two have since traded personal insults. The relationship began to crack after Trump recently said he was “disappointed” in Musk’s criticism of his “Big Beautiful Bill,” which Musk says will only add to the deficit. Musk threatened on social media to build a third party coalition, while Trump floated the idea of cancelling the billionaire’s government contracts.
