Fetterman Shreds Dem Colleagues for ‘Unhinged Petulance’ During Trump Address: Makes Him Look ‘Presidential’

U.S. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) slammed his fellow Democrats for their behavior during President Donald Trump’s eventful address to Congress.
In the hours leading up to Trump’s Tuesday speech, members of the Democratic Party vowed to stage some form of protest in the chamber. As it turns out, that protest took multiple forms — from color-coordinated outfits to small signs criticizing Trump and billionaire Elon Musk. Dems even resorted to trolling the president when, after he claimed the country was no longer “ruled by unelected bureaucrats,” several of them laughed and pointed up at Musk.
Things even got heated when Rep. Al Green (D-TX) was escorted out for repeatedly heckling Trump and interrupting the speech.
On Wednesday, Fetterman took to X/Twitter to express his disappointment in the defiant displays.
“A sad cavalcade of self owns and unhinged petulance,” Fetterman said in the tweet. “It only makes Trump look more presidential and restrained.
“We’re becoming the metaphorical car alarms that nobody pays attention to — and it may not be the winning message.”
Fetterman hasn’t shied away from harshly criticizing his own party in recent moment. In early February, he appeared on a podcast and called the Democratic Party “toxic” and claimed party members had gone to the “extreme” with their anti-Trump rhetoric.
