Fox News Clobbers Competition With Huge Debuts For New Weekend Shows

Fox News is celebrating the strong debuts of Saturday in America with Kayleigh McEnany and The Sunday Briefing with Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich.
Saturday in America debuted as the top program in cable news on Saturday, drawing 1.6 million viewers. The show drew 131,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic, according to Nielsen data, besting both CNN and MSNBC, though Fox does that regularly with their programming.
The Sunday Briefing debuted the following day. The show has rotating anchors in White House correspondents Doocy and Heinrich. The new program came out of the gate strong, pulling in 2.2 million viewers and 267,000 in the previously-mentioned key demo. The show bested CNN by some 481% and MSNBC by 317% in total viewers, and in the key demo by 493% over CNN and 207% over MSNBC. The debut marked a 55% increase in the demo compared to the year-to-date average for Fox’s 11 a.m. Sunday hour.
On the debut episode of The Sunday Briefing, Doocy came equipped with an interview with President Donald Trump. The president revealed in the sit-down that media moguls Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch would likely be part of a group that would take over TikTok in a deal with China.
McEnany, meanwhile, interviewed White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s now-lifted suspension and opened her show with police footage of a traffic stop involving Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old now facing a murder charge over the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
