Fox News Contributor Angrily Refers to Harvard President as ‘That Black Woman in Power’ in Bizarre Rant
Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce went on a rant against Harvard president Dr. Claudine Gay while appearing on The Faulkner Focus — which culminated in Bruce calling her “that Black woman in power.”
In the final segment of Tuesday’s show, host Harris Faulkner was discussing the Congressional hearing into anti-Semitism on college campuses that featured testimony by several of those colleges’ presidents, including Dr. Gay, who has spoken publicly against the Hamas attacks as well as true threats against students. Since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attacks and Israel’s response, which has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties in Gaza, anti-Semitism and Islamophobia have risen on campuses and around the world. Jewish students have reported threats on their lives and not feeling safe, which was why these presidents were facing questions. (Reports of anti-Semitism on campus actually predate the Israeli-Hamas War.)
Faulkner played some of Dr. Gay’s testimony as she was questioned by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) before turning to Bruce for her response, which was this:
It is heartbreaking to see a woman in such a position of power abandon that power. She sounds like a robot. She refuses to answer questions. Everything is at stake. The future of those young people is at stake. This nation’s at stake. But she’s talking about what the left has been telling us now for years: speech is violence. And when we actually have hate speech, the calling for the genocide, something that strikes fear in Jews around the world, within living memory, the genocide of a certain people, and she refuses to answer, refuses to be specific, refuses to condemn that and act on that. If that’s, you know, actionable. What does she exactly want? Does she want genocide to happen first?
So this is what the problem is, is that this isn’t just some slogan or chant. We would be hearing something very different if it was people in robes, in Klan robes, shouting “Lynch certain people,” using certain words. It would be inherently and deeply unacceptable. Action would be taken. Those people would be expelled because it would be a hate crime. We’ve gone through years of hate crimes being defined. This is the epitome of it. And that Black woman in power, God help us, she has abandoned that power!
