‘God Help Us ALL…’: MAGA Melts Down After Musk Implicates Trump in the ‘Epstein Files’

Elon Musk escalated his fight against President Donald Trump to epic proportions on Thursday as the two spent the day duking it out on social media, with Musk going so far as to claim that Trump is implicated in the “Epstein Files.”
“Time to drop the really big bomb,” Musk wrote on X, adding, “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!”
The “Epstein Files” refer to the long-held conspiracy theory that the government has a secret record of everyone who engaged in illicit behavior with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein — who killed himself in jail. Musk’s statement suggests that Trump partook in Epstein’s appalling criminal behavior, which allegedly included trafficking minors for his uber-rich friends.
Trump’s MAGA base has long pushed conspiracy theories that prominent Democrats would be exposed when the Epstein files are made public. Trump repeatedly promised on the campaign trail to release the files when he took office, a promise that Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel have yet to fulfill, at least as far as many MAGA conspiracy theorists are concerned. In recent weeks, both Patel and his deputy, Dan Bongino, have publicly stated that they no longer believe in many of the conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein, namely that he was murdered to keep him silent.
Musk accusing Trump of being involved with Epstein is a kind of worst possible scenario for the MAGA base, which has also long dabbled in the QAnon conspiracy theory that believed Trump would come into power and end the left’s alleged sex trafficking cabal.
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones reacted to Musk’s post, writing, “God Help Us ALL….” He later posted a lengthy clip breaking down the “magnitude” of that claim and vouching for Musk’s “integrity,” but added he needed to further investigate what it exactly means for Trump to be in the files. Jones also posted, “This World stands on the brink of Total Destruction!”
“Heil Hitler” rapper Kanye West replied, saying, “Broooos please noooooo [hugging emoji] We love you both so much.”
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), a close Trump ally and leader of the MAGA base, simply posted a meme asking them to “Stop It!” Mike Cernovich took to X to suggest that the Musk-Trump spat was simply hot-blooded men doing what they do.
“It’s in the nature of some people to fight. Call it archetype or energy. If you don’t have hot [blood], it won’t make sense. If you do, you understand. The hotter the blood gets the higher you feel. It’s a self-reinforcing, internally created drug like effect. Not that I would know,’ Cernovich wrote.
