Vice President JD Vance called former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki’s comments about Second Lady Usha Vance, “disgraceful” on Thursday.
Vance spoke to reporters Thursday while on the tarmac in Tel Aviv, Israel, as he prepared to head back to the United States.
“Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki made some comments suggesting that your wife, the second lady, needed to be saved from you,” one reporter said. “How do you feel about comments being made like that while you’re here with the second lady?”
“Oh, I think it’s disgraceful, but of course the second lady can speak for herself,” Vance said. “And I am very lucky to have a wonderful wife and I know — at least I hope — that my wife feels the same about me. We are very lucky to go on this journey-, I should say, I’m very lucky to go on this journey with a very loving wife. We’re going to keep on serving this country together and I’m honored to have Usha by my side on this trip in particular, but always.”
Psaki, who now hosts a show for MSNBC, made the comments to Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan on their I’ve Had It podcast on Tuesday.
Welch claimed that MAGA politicians “are really trying to concentrate the power in the executive because biology is going to catch up with Trump.”
Psaki said, “I think the little Manchurian candidate, JD Vance, wants to be president more than anything else. I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of his wife. Like, are you okay? Please blink four times, we’ll-, come over here. We’ll save you.”
Psaki continued, “I mean, he’s scarier in certain ways, in some ways. And he’s young, and ambitious, and agile in the sense that he is a chameleon who makes himself into whatever he thinks the audience wants to hear from him.”
