A majority of Americans are on board with President-elect Donald Trump’s handling of the transition — according to a new poll.

A CBS News poll published Sunday found 59 percent of Americans approve of Trump’s moves in the weeks following his election victory, while 41 percent disapprove.

Notably, the poll was in the field from November 19-22. On November 21, embattled former congressman Matt Gaetz withdrew his name from consideration as Trump’s attorney general. Hours later, the president-elect announced former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as his replacement pick to lead the Department of Justice.

Despite the overall high approval rating for the transition thus far, public opinion on a number of Trump’s highest-profile appointees has been mixed, the poll found. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, is considered a “good choice” by 47 percent of voters, and a “not good choice” by 34 percent. Prospective Secretary of State Marco Rubio gets a passing grade from 44 percent of voters, while 25 percent oppose his selection. And Pete Hegseth has the support of just 33 percent of voters — although just 28 percent oppose him, and 39 percent say they “haven’t heard enough about him” to form an opinion.

A majority of Americans, 51 percent, believe it is important that Trump appoint people who are loyal to him personally. A strong majority of Republicans value that trait — as 81 percent of GOP voters think Trump’s appointees should be loyal to him.
