Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman, had a blunt response to the death of O.J. Simpson, who was acquitted in 1995 of murdering his son.

NBC national reporter Daniel Arkin posted on Twitter/X on Thursday that he had spoken to Goldman to get his reaction to the news that Simpson had died. He provided the following quote:

The only thing I have to say is it’s just further reminder of Ron being gone all these years. It’s no great loss to the world. It’s a further reminder of Ron’s being gone.

Simpson was found not guilty of murdering Goldman and his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson; following one of the most watched criminal trials of all time. Simpson was found liable for their deaths in a civil suit, for which Simpson was ordered to pay $33.5 million. He ended up paying very little of that amount, and the sports memorabilia career he started to come up with the money ended with him being found guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008. He was released from prison in 2017.

Kim Goldman, Ron’s sister and Fred’s daughter, started a podcast in 2022 focused on survivors of sensational crimes. Both were media fixtures on Ron Goldman’s behalf during and after the trial.
