‘No Way to Sugarcoat It!’ CNN’s Harry Enten Trashes Trump’s ‘Just Horrible’ 100-Day Poll Numbers
“These numbers are just horrible,” said CNN polling guru Harry Enten — Sunday on Inside Politics. “There’s no way to sugarcoat it!”
Yes, according to Enten, a brand new CNN poll out Sunday morning brought absolutely no good news for President Donald Trump. The poll put Trump’s job approval rating at just 41 percent — lower than any president in at least seven decades, according to CNN.
“Throughout his second term as president, he tended to be running ahead of where he was in his first term,” Enten said. “No longer is that the case.”
Enten noted that Trump’s 41 percent puts him three points below where he was at this point in his first term. He also compares dismally with his most recent predecessors — coming in 12 points below former President Joe Biden at the 100-day mark, 22 points behind former President Barack Obama, and 21 points behind former President George W. Bush.
“He has broken his own record for being the worst,” Enten said. “The American people do not like what they are seeing at this point from Donald John Trump.”
Enten wrapped the segment by going through Trump’s numbers on several issues. In fact, he comes in below 50 percent on every single issue CNN polled about, with the sole exception of his handling of issues related to gender identity and trans people — where 51 percent approve of his work.
“This just tells you on every single different data point you could possibly look at, whether it be Trump’s overall approval, whether it’d be the issues for Donald Trump, or how he conducts himself in office, all of these numbers are pretty much terrible for Donald trump at this point,” Enten said. He added, “It’s just no good.”
