‘Oh, Come On!’ Fox & Friends Weekend Hosts Laugh as They’re Tripped Up By Basic Math in ‘Back-to-School’
Fox & Friends Weekend hosts were put to the test on Saturday, facing school-age math questions while balancing books on their heads during a light-hearted back-to-school challenge that Rachel Campos-Duffy joked was their “most embarrassing segment.”
Representatives from Mathnasium learning centers explained that they “work with kids from kindergarten all the way up to high school.”
“We won’t go too hard on you guys!” the rep promised as she introduced a “balancing brain game.”
“You’re each going to grab a book we’re going to try to balance on your head,” the rep said, explaining that she would ask math questions and give the hosts 30 seconds to respond. Whoever answered the most questions correctly would win the challenge.
“I have a very round head,” host Charlie Hurt said as he worked to balance the books.
The rep then asked, “What’s 6 x 12?”
“Oh, come on!” an exasperated Campos-Duffy said as the rep urged her on, declaring, “You got this!”
“What? I didn’t hear?” said host Johnny Joey Jones. “What’s that? That’s 36 x 2, right? That’s 60… let’s see, it’s one, one, 112—”
“I’m still trying to balance my books,” Hurt said.
The rep finally took mercy on the hosts and gave them the answer: “72 — we’re going to hit you with the next one. What is the area of a square with a side length of 5?”
“25!” they all answered correctly.
After getting a few more right, the rep asked, “What is half of 35?”
“That would be—” began Jones, as Campos-Duffy interjected, “15-and-a-half!”
“17-and-a-half,” Hurt answered, finally getting the answer right.
“We all need to go to Mathnasium!” Campos-Duffy exclaimed. “That was the most embarrassing segment!”
