CNN’s Scott Jennings Buries Kristi Noem’s VP Chances: A ‘Weirdo Who’s Out Here Shooting Dogs!’
In a segment on Monday discussing possible running mates for former President Donald Trump, CNN contributor Scott Jennings all but ruled out South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) based on her “weirdo” judgment in not just killing a puppy, but choosing to write about it in a book as if it was a folksy anecdote.
The conversation hosted by anchor John Berman discussed other possibilities such as former GOP candidates North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC). And Noem has always been a name on the VP list for Trump, at least up until she revealed herself to be a real-life version of Cruella De Vil who killed a puppy for committing the crime of being a puppy. While this may not matter to Trump, and might even appeal to him, Jennings — a former advisor to former President George W. Bush — called her judgment into question:
Look, the issue here is judgment. Judgment. What kind of judgment did you use when you did it? What kind of judgment did you use when you put it in the book? And what kind of judgment did you use when you doubled and then tripled down on it? If I’m Donald Trump, if I’m around him and I’m like, “Look at all these great choices I have for vice president.” And then I have this weirdo who’s out here shooting dogs and saying it’s a great idea, I’m like, “I got I got plenty of other options.” Doug Burgum’s not shooting any dogs! You know, Tim Scott’s not out here writing about weirdo things he did 20 years ago. It’s a judgment issue. And the number one issue of picking a vice president is do no harm. And not only has Kristi Noem done harm to a dog, she’s done harm to her own political future by writing about it and defending it the way she has.
