Sean Duffy Says His Reality Road Trip Show Delayed Over ‘Extra Editing’ for Ethics Compliance

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has finally addressed the absence of his family road trip reality show, saying it was delayed to “come into compliance with all of the ethics rules.”

Duffy was pressed about what became of the show by NewsNation’s Marni Hughes on Monday, weeks after several outlets questioned the status of his Great American Road Trip, a collection of trips by Duffy, his wife, Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy, and their nine children, that was supposed to premiere on YouTube in June.

“Is that still happening? What should we be watching for?” Hughes asked the transportation chief.

He started by denying it was a reality show in the first place.

“It’s not a reality show. So what we’ve done is The Great American Road Trip. We want to encourage people to get out and travel and see this beautiful country. ‘If you love America, you should see America’ is the motto. So I did little mini-trips with my family. One, two-day trips to film different parts of the country that folks could go to. So yes, stay tuned in the next maybe week, two weeks. We’re going to drop.”

He added that it “took a little longer that we would have liked” while some extra editing was done to “make sure I come into compliance with all of the ethics rules now that we have in government.”

Duffy, a former reality star years before he wound up in President Donald Trump’s cabinet, faced a grilling by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) the show, during which she snapped, “You are the witness! I am not the witness.”
