‘She’s a Loser!’ Ex-Trump WH Lawyer Torches Alina Habba On CNN Over Bombshell Loss
Former Trump White House lawyer Ty Cobb torched current (for now) Trump lawyer Alina Habba over her handling of the defamation trial that resulted in a blockbuster award of $83 million to E. Jean Carroll, the woman former President Trump has been found liable for defaming about sexually abusing her.
Since Trump was hit with a bombshell $83.3 million judgment for defaming Carroll while he was president, Carroll and her legal team have been giving interview after interview, savaging and mocking him over it. And Trump, without mentioning Habba by name, has been making it known he’s looking for new lawyers.
CNN host Erin Burnett interviewed Cobb on Wednesday night’s edition of CNN’s OutFront, and asked him about Habba’s performance — which Cobb torched as “Mafia”-like and added “She’s a loser”:
BURNETT: I want to ask you before you go, Ty.
COBB: Sure.
BURNETT: Alina Habba, Trump’s lawyer who lost the case in the E. Jean Carroll $83 million defamation settlement. He — Trump has indicated he’s looking for new representation for his appeal. She represented him and she said a recent interview. She talked about that and what it was like working with him.
Here’s what she said
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ALINA HABBA, DONALD TRUMP’S ATTORNEY: Winning always helps. He doesn’t want anybody on his team representing him that’s, you know, going to keep failing, of course. Loyalty, it’s something he talks about all the time, but loyalty in not a cryptic mafia way.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BURNETT: So he did say he’s looking for new representation.
You worked for him. What do you — you know, for the White House, so, you know him. What do you think about how she’s handled the case?
COBB: I think she’s handled it in the mafia way. She’s done his bidding. She’s articulated his political narrative of victimization and unfairness in the judicial system and made some outlandish claims, including the conflict claims, and she lost. So she’s a loser. I’m not surprised that Trump is looking for appellate representation.
