A viral video captured the moment an LAPD officer shot a woman with a non-lethal round as she was trying to get back home.
The video was originally posted Monday night by the TikTok account @labyrinthlore, run by a woman identified as Alexandria. In the clip, a lone woman could be seen walking down a sidewalk across the street. Alexandria included the text, “A woman just trying to get home.”
Shortly after the video began, the woman was faced with a wall of police officers blocking her from walking further. Standing no more than a few feet from them, the woman then exchanged words with officers — appearing to let them know she was trying to walk to her apartment. The officers, however, wouldn’t budge and even began yelling at the woman to go another way.
“Watch, if they shoot her,” Alexandria said from behind the camera.
Then, one of the officers fired a non-lethal round at the woman — forcing her to slowly walk away in pain.
“Holy fuck,” Alexandria said. She then rushed across the street to help the woman.
She asked the woman, who was crying hysterically, where she was hit. Alexandria then escorted the woman out of the line of sight of the officers to provide aid. Cars could be heard honking right next to them, prompting Alexandria to yell that the woman was injured. They then began walking across the street.
“I live here!” the woman repeated through her cries.
The video ended shortly after the pair crossed the street.
