‘They Just Don’t F*cking Get it!’ Democrat Challenging Lindsey Graham Absolutely Loses It Over GOP Inaction on Gun Control
Dr. Annie Andrews, a pediatric Emergency Department doctor who’s running as a Democrat to unseat Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), told The Daily Mic Drop podcast that Republican lawmakers are “spineless” when it comes to gun control.
Graham posted to social media after the shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis on Wednesday, “Heartbreaking. Please join me in praying for these victims and wounded, and their families,” while President Donald Trump posted, “Please join me in praying for everyone involved!”
But Andrews told podcast host Joe Gallina, “Thoughts and prayers do nothing. Thoughts and prayers do not save our kids’ lives.” She continued:
I like what the [Minneapolis] mayor said: “They were literally praying.” I always get online during this moments and say what I want to say, and people are like, ‘No, it’s too soon. Don’t politicize this tragedy.’ No, it is far too late for us to be speaking up on this issue! Every shooting that happens means it’s a moment too late to be speaking.
People want to tell us to be quiet in these moments. These loudmouth, vocal minority folks on social media want us to think they’re in the majority and they’re telling us to be quiet and we just need to take that as a sign to get louder.
Of course it keeps happening because we don’t have enough elected officials in this country who fucking get it. They just don’t get it. They’re playing politics with our kids’ lives.
Graham is running for his fifth term in the Senate, and is the front-runner for his party’s nomination in 2026. His campaign war chest is said to be around $15.6 million.
Andrews unsuccessfully ran for a House seat against Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) in 2022. She is relying on grassroots support to power her Senate campaign and raised $1.2 million in the first month alone, according to reporting in The State.
