Trump Confronted About Ghislaine Maxwell Sessions As Press Shooed Out Of Global Press Conference

President Donald Trump was confronted about the Department of Justice meetings with Ghislaine Maxwell as reporters were being ushered out of a global press conference in a moment that was cut off in the White House stream.

It has now been three weeks since the Trump administration first tried to bury the promised mountain of information on deceased sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein, and the heat just keeps going up. At every turn, Trump’s efforts to quash the story have only intensified interest in it, and deepened Trump’s own association with it.

Maxwell has become an important subplot in the controversy as Trump’s DOJ meets with her and Trump allies push the victim narrative.

The controversy followed Trump overseas as he faced questions from reporters at every turn when he jetted off to Scotland for some golf, some meetings, and a press conference with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Trump and von der Leyen spoke and took questions for about 25 minutes, after which Trump dismissed the press with a “Thank you!” and aides began to shoo reporters out of the ballroom at Trump Turnberry.

That’s where the White House stream of the presser cuts off, but pool cameras captured a reporter asking Trump about Maxwell. The pool video glitched at that exact moment, but White House correspondent Myah Ward of Politico confirmed the exchange in a pair of pool reports:

Presser concluded at 5:20 pm, and the pool was ushered out.

A few more quotes. POTUS complained about windmills in Europe and said they’re “very destructive.”

On Cambodia and Thailand, said he called both prime ministers and said, “we’re not going to make a trade deal unless you settle the war.” Said Rubio is also working on this.

“If I can use trade to” to end conflicts, it’s my honor.”

POTUS was also asked about whether he was briefed by DOJ on the Ghislaine Maxwell interviews. But pool could not hear his response and will check the stream.

Your pooler spotted Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. in the room as well.

Subject: Out-of-town pool report 8: on Maxwell question

For clarity, the Maxwell question came at the end. POTUS was asked if he was briefed by the DOJ on the Ghislaine Maxwell interviews. He responded with what sounded like, “I don’t hear your question,” per the audio.

Thanks for radio pooler Franco Oroñez for the better audio.
