Trump Loses It on Fox’s ‘Absolutely Terrible’ Jacqui Heinrich: ‘She Should Be Working for CNN’
President Donald Trump derided Jacqui Heinrich, senior White House correspondent for Fox News, in a rant on Truth Social Wednesday, arguing that she belongs at CNN rather than the right-leaning cable news network.
“I watched Jacqui Heinrich from Fox over the weekend and I thought she was absolutely terrible. She should be working for CNN, not Fox,” wrote Trump. “Not surprisingly, I later found out that she’s a fan of the White House Correspondents Association!”
Fox’s Brit Hume later defended Heinrich, writing, “I watched her too. She plays it straight, covering both sides of a story and has certainly played fair with you. You may have a case against some White House reporters, but not” Heinrich.
Trump was seemingly referring to a segment from Sunday in which Heinrich noted that Tesla, the electric car company owned by Elon Musk, had raised concerns over Trump’s implementation of tariffs and asked Senator Bernie Moreno (R-OH) about Trump checking out a Tesla in front of the press on White House grounds.
“Sir, there was basically a display at the White House there. He surveyed some cars. It was happening as, you know, Americans’ 401(k) accounts were facing some struggles because of this tariff war happening right now,” said Heinrich before asking “Was that an appropriate thing for the president to do there? Was it sensitive to the moment that we are in buying a car, using the White House as a — as a backdrop for that?”
Trump’s criticism of Heinrich also came less than two hours after Heinrich asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt about her colleague Andy McCarthy’s analysis of the high-profile deportation case before Judge James Boasberg at the moment.
Leavitt responded by telling Heinrich that the administration disagreed “with the legal opinion of the individual that you mentioned” and even going so far as to say that “anybody trying to defend these terrorists who have now been sent off of American soil should talk to the families of the individuals who these heinous monsters have killed and have raped.”
“If you talk to those families, they are so heartened by the president’s decision to take tough action, and to use his executive authority,” she added.
